So a while ago I made a very angry post about some supposed "Easter Egger" chicks that we had bought from our local Bomgaars that seemingly turned out to be Golden Comet roosters.
Fast forward to a few months later, and I am so embarrassed.
We watched them mature with baited breath; but after months none of them showed any rooster-ish characteristics (Except for one of them, Rhea, who has a huge comb for some reason). Eventually we decided that they weren't Golden Comet roos after all but some other random breed that we couldn't identify.
And then we found it.
I was doing the chickens for the night; you know, counting them, gathering eggs, hugs and kisses, the whole deal.
But what I saw in the nesting box made my jaw DROP.
It was a GREEN EGG.
Yes, that's right. Those "roosters" we had been scammed out of our money for were actually EASTER EGGERS.
I don't think I've ever been happier to be wrong in my entire life.
So, yeah. Now we get green eggs every so often from our lovely Easter Egger hens: Rhea (Huge comb), Lizzie (Very cute), Loaf (She looks like bread), and Blondie (Very yellow). We are super happy to have them and they've been fitting in super well with our other hens now; truly a wonderful addition to our flock.
All of them lay green/blue eggs, except for Loaf, who lays normal cream colored eggs (Just discovered that today).

I'll try to get some pictures soon so y'all can see them.
They look kinda similar to Golden Comets, except a bit brighter. They also vary in patterns a lot more: some are mottled, some are a gradient, and some are splashed. They look really cool and I highly recommend picking them up if you're looking for some hens that lay cool eggs.
Though I don't know the official name of the breed.

They're probably from (or rather, the store ordered them from) hoover's. The birds they have labeled as easter eggers look like that. If I had to guess they are some sort of Rhode island red cream legbar cross. If you want classic ameraucana based easter eggers, look for birds labeled as americanas. Those birds are not actually true ameraucanas but are actually easter eggers. Here's a picture of the ones I had a few years ago

Those are beautiful hens; but our easter eggers don't look like that. They're basically just lighter Golden Comets (no black).
I'll take some pictures to share soon

You may want to make a post there too, telling what you eventually learned, maybe with a link to this thread.
That way if anyone finds that thread in the future, they can know the final result too.

They are probably a cross that has no name other than what the hatchery chooses to call them, rather than belonging to any recognizable breed.

I'm glad they have turned out so well for you!
