My flock has been infected with either coryza, or mycoplasma... though all signs are leaning towards coryza at this point. I don't plan to sell any of my birds in the future, so I've decided to keep my flock closed rather than cull everyone. I've had the whole flock on Duramycin-10 for the last three days. There have been some symptoms popping up here and there in a few birds, but the worst by far is my favorite hen, Sassafras. She was the first to show symptoms on Tuesday of this week, and doesn't seem to be improving. She can't see to eat or drink, so I've been using a syringe to administer antibiotic water several times a day. I thought I was doing good with roughly 80-100 cc's a day because that about all she'll take, and I'm also fearful of her aspirating... then I read somewhere online that chickens drink 500 cc's per day!? So now I'm worried she's going to die of dehydration, as well as not getting enough antibiotics. After the first day, her eyes seemed to be improving, but she scratches her eyes, and I've had to clean them several times and now one eye is worse than ever. I want to clean it but I don't know if that'll irritate it more? I'm considering injecting her with Tylan, any recommendations on that?
