I prefer to go bare foot outside . I hate shoes, but my feet are more washable than shoes and I have developed a keen eye and careful step.

I 100% agree! This is the only way to do it. I just think shoes take to long to put on lol!

Probably 4 years ago, our first flock of ducks got eaten by predators when a dog scared them into the woods, and they didn't' come in before bed time. We were going to see family about a week later, and found 6 Magpie ducklings on the way. We loaded up the dog crate and picked them up on the way there. When we got there, my cousin was sitting in a chair and I brought a duckling inside. She told me to keep it away from her because she didn't' want it to poop on her. We were sitting next to each other and I handed the baby over to her. I told her it was fine he wouldn't poop. She was holding him, and he decided to go. Hahaha! It was hysterical!
I brought another one in, and it climed up on my shoulder, a moment later, I was soaked from the shoulder down in duck pee. Oh poultry! It never ends!

As long as you don't wash your feet in the bathroom sink right after a nice walk where the chickens were roaming!

Cheap fake crocks just for the coop! Easy to kick out of and hose down.

Not scary but hilarious to me....
My ex mother in law (not an animal person) had stopped in a couple days after I had assisted a gosling out of the shell. I had him in my lap feeding him (he had a twisted bill) and well he did what a fed gosling does right in my lap. She was HORRIFIED. I was laughing because her reaction was over the top.
I am washable and so were the jeans I had on.

Yeah but but but what about the poo splashes in your shower walls.. unless you go skinny dipping in your backyard to clean all that out and the washout becomes fertilizer...

My trusty Carhartt coat has seen some smears in it's time...my bantam rooster got startled while being held like a football and the unfortunate casualty was the pocket area not once but thrice alas the washing machine has stayed busy but the coat is fine! And I still hold my "football," he hasn't deterred me yet!
