Carri, that crying on the first day thing only lasts the first couple of years.

After that it's like that Staples commercial where the dad is throwing school supplies in the cart and dancing around to "The Most Wonderful Day of the Year" while his kids look daggers at him.

My daughter goes back, for her senior year, on the 16th. She will have to pay $10 for a parking pass, and $5 or $10 for an 'agenda', which is like a daily planner that they write they're assignments in, and it doubles as a hall pass. Her school is in Florida, which outlawed indoor smoking in public places a couple of years ago. It is a Christian school, so they do ask visitors to the campus not to smoke just out of respect for the school code of conduct. If a mom is smoking in her car while waiting for her kid, they won't run out and douse her with a bucket or make her leave, though.

As I said in my first post, I didn't want this to turn argumenative. But it looks like that will happen. Smokers and non-smokers will always butt heads. (pardon the pun)Everyone has their opinion on everything. I have a right to smoke just as others have a right to drink. Which I don't do. I am not a smoker that smokes in the company of others. If it offends people I simply don't do it in their presence. I consider myself a considerate person. And in being a considerate person I won't make a hateful reply to those who have been snotty in their opinions during the process of this post. That being said I asked one of the mods to close the post. And I hope that they do.
