(Thanks! I love her music! Am liking the history hints...)((listens to song* nice one!))
Dom let his smile grow, forgetting, for a moment.
Then a small laugh, high and tinkling rang out from memory to the front of his mind. A bright landscape spread out in his minds eye. She was in a short blue dress that complimented her dark hair beautifully. They were walking together and she grabbed his arm, pulling him to a stop.
"I bet you could play that song, Dominic! Play it for me...will you?"
Dom laughed as she pulled him over to the display piano at the county fair. "Play that song I like so much."
He grinned at her reproachfully as she sat him down at the piano and scooted up next to him. "I've never played it, silly!"
Her eyes, chocolate brown flecked with green, winked at him. A beautiful smile on her lips "But we both know you can."
Dom muffled the small gasp that he breathed out. He took a step back shaking his head. no no no! No remembering. No more. There's no use.
He started to turn to leave but his feet wouldn't work. He felt numb.
"I am likely to miss the main event if I stop to cry or complain again! So I will keep a deliberate pace, let the d***ed breeze dry my faaaaace! … Oh, mister, wait until you see what I'm gonna be… I've got a plan, a demand and it just began! And if you're right, you'll agree. Here's coming a - better version of me! Here it comes, a better version of me!
Heee-e-ere it comes a better version of me!"
Heee-e-ere it comes a better version of me!"
Kit-Kat finished with a flourish, laughing. She spun on the bench and stopped short when she saw Dom. Her eye widened, and for a moment her skin turned diamond. Then she calmed down - or at least, she wasn't surprised. Kit-Kat wasn't a calm person. "Hi!" Then she noticed his expression. Her brow furrowed, "Are you okay?"
