I have a little scissor beak polish and the other day she prolapse we doctored her and so on she healed and felt better. After a about a day she started to stay in one place for lots of time her wings will droop and when i offer her wet food she refuses to eat all she wants to do is drink water. Even with all of the water she will bend down and it will all fall out. I honestly don't know what to do. Please help. She is skinny and I need weight on her she also just started laying but they always break when I put her on some calcium they cleared up but then she became depressed and stopped laying even after I put her with the others. From the looks she isn't eggbound. And she still likes to move around but not very long.

Welcome to BYC. Where are you located? Sorry about your pullet. Her wings look to be drooping. Is she able to walk okay? Apparently with chickens who have scissors beak or cross beak, putting their food in a bowl with taller sides is the best way to get food into them. If you empty and clean the bowl once a day, you may make a wet mash of feed and water. Cooked eggs are usually a favorite meal for most chickens, and if you grind up some egg shell finely into the cooked egg, you can get her to take more calcium.

Since she is refusing even wet food, I would feel of her crop to check if it is full and hard, or puffy like a balloon, she may have a crop problem. That would make her not eat. Also if her egg shells have been thin, she may be suffering from a reproductive disorder or suffered a broken egg inside. That can make them feel lousy.

There are a few viruses, especially Mareks disease which can affect immunity to common diseases, and have multiple problems. If it is hot where you are, giving some electrolytes in her water may help. Shade, good air circulation, and cool water to stand in and drink are helpful.

Have you tried wetting her feed and raising it up higher off the ground?
I have wetted her feed. And I can give her a small little roost other than that she is inside with free range and she does move around alot but then goes back to sleep.

Thank you I have had her on a deep dish for ever since I noticed it she was full weight for a while until now. So I can check her crop. It is pretty humid I'm in Arkansas and she walks normally and occasionally runs when she sees me.

It is slightly puffy she is out walking again mostly drinking though.

I don't think it's fair to try and keep her going if her beak is so malformed she's starving to death. I would cull her if she was mine, out of mercy.
She just started not wanting to eat but when she was she was fat and happy. And if I was to cull her I wouldn't be able to I'd have to get my dad to do it but he isn't here and won't be for awhile.

I meant to raise the food bowl up off the ground so she can scoop the feed better.

I would soak the feed (crumble or pellet) until it's mush, then add more water so she can drink it and get some nutrition. I've stopped feeding mine dry food. Absolutely no waste when it's wet and they love it.
