FINALLY after months of feed bin invasion and most annoyingly EGG EATING...we caught our crook in the act!

And it wasn't a rat...nor a chicken...nor a goat...

Three shots to the head and voila - no more egg eating marsupial. I have NEVER seen one this fat and healthy - and NO WONDER! It would eat up to four eggs a night if I forgot to gather them before dark and who knows how much feed...

What is it? Good catch...is it a baby possum?

T'weren't a baby! Those nest boxes are 12" squares. It was a heavy, older adult male. FAT older adult male I should say - darn thing had blubber he'd eaten so many of my eggs!

Lucky your girls never got caught, just their eggs. Maybe he was too portly to give them a good chase...
