scratch and peck, non GMO organic Anyone use this ?

Im now more excited as ever, the shipping is on the price not the pound!!! so if I order 200 pounds I only pay something like 10.00 or 12.00 to ship! they go on how much you spend not on weight, so this is really going to be a blessing. I plan to order now at least 5 bags at a time.

Hi,

I started feeding my girls S/P this summer, and they really enjoy it. Since I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, I've had to drive 80 miles to get the feed in Sacramento.

I called S/P around September and asked if they could be a part of Azure Standard, and the lady said S/P was in the process of setting up the paperwork w/ AS and that she thought S/P would be available by the end of 2012 or the beginning of 2013. She said a call of encouragement to AS would be helpful also. And, I've called S/P about every month for an update.
I called AS on Friday, and was told that S/P would be available starting with the J/F deliveries : )
However, I think the S/P would be only the layer feed this time, sort of like a test run to see how people would be buying the product. Hopefully, they will be adding the grower and the starter soon, as chick season is coming up around March.

I have bought organic Cascade Feed from Magill Ranch, OR also for my chickens.

King Feed and Modesto Mill Feed are both organic, but are in pellet or crumble form, which I do not prefer.

For AS, all I need to do is buy $50 worth of products, and I do not pay for shipping. I think if I buy less than $50, there is a $5 charge. My sister in Southern CA pays the person who arranges the drop off $10, I think, for handling charges.

Have fun with Scratch and Peck Feeds. Call S/P to let them know your feedback.

I don't know if you're referring to S/P or to AS about not answering calls ... AS had some problems last week w/ their phone lines and posted an alternate number to use.
S/P has always answered my calls, perhaps it was the time I called, late morning/early afternoon.

Pls. try again ???

Tammy, get a catalog from azure standard and tell them you are looking forward to scratch and peck. My hens went mad over it. I'm hoping they will carry the grower soon as I will be raising more chicks this spring. But man the food was by far a hit with my girls.
I know I tried to call last week and the phone was down, but look on there web site also. You can order from there to. For the feed come January/ February.

Hi Tammy,

I believe you can buy Scratch and Peck in Eugene at Hummingbird Wholesale. Not sure of the price...

You can also buy Magill Ranch Cascade Feeds, which are organic and outstanding quality, at the Eugene Backyard Farmer, if you ever make it in to Eugene.

BTW we live outside Corvallis.

I know this is old. But I feed scratch n peck to my birds. They love it ,but it takes a bit more work since they will leave all the powder if I don't wet it. So if I wet it then I can't feed much since it would go bad. I only have the choice of the layer feed at my local feed store.

I have it now delivered Through azure standard. It's expensive, but I see now there is another seller of organic feed like scratch and peck and you get 50 pounds for less. We mix the powder with yogert, they love it but again 40 pounds for over 30.00 is way to much money.
