Scratch Grains and Chicks

Are 11 week old chicks old enough fro scratch grains? They are about to experience their first freezing temps this week so I thought I would give them some scratch in the evening before bed for warmth.

Also, at what age are they considered pullets?

They are considered pullets till they start laying. My PR's were about 4 1/2-5 months when they started laying. They can have scratch but try to give the bulk of their feed as starter.
