Scratch

I gave my chicks small amounts of chick scratch at a young age--to make them love me, of course, and get used to eating out of my hand. They will need chick grit if you feed anything besides chick starter crumble.

The "scratch" that Chris feeds sounds great--I'm going to have to look into that. I also feed a nutritious blend of grains, peas, sunflower seeds,etc... instead of just cracked corn. I don't think corn is all that great. Next batch of chicks, I think I'll just throw some of that mix in the cuisinart for them.

Thank you, I will have to look for a feed mill around here, right now I only have experience buying feed from the feedstore and the TSC lol.

I have been offering the chick grit from TSC separately from thier food, they are not that interested in it yet, maybe once I start giving them more treats they will start taking it
