I told Kathy on the pm side that when I bought birds from two different places, which I picked up, I google earthed the address and it gave me a shot of the place I was going. The house the yard. It helped me to find the places and one I saw the front of the house and knew right off that it was the place.
Try to get a street address and have a look, see if there is anything suspicious. Junk in the yard, old cars, is it clean looking, beer cans laying around.

I didn't get a good look at some places but others I did.

Cyn, you really need to dust that bathroom. Just kidding. Yes I did look you up and all I saw was those beautiful trees you mentioned cutting down. That was before I knew you better. I'd buy anything from you. (well not silkies) Your stilll the best. IMO. Lord knows I ain't lying.

Love ya all

You know what else I figured out about this girl ..... She is smart. She asks for payment in advance, THEN she says it will be a couple weeks, but actually is OVER 3 weeks before you get the eggs. Then wait another 21 days to hatch. By this time 45 days have passed. PayPal will not refund or listen to a complaint after 45 days.

Isn't there some way to "report" her on paypal??!! Even if you can't dispute the charges?

Also....I'd give her some "feedback" on the BST section of BYC where you CAN place info!!!

I tried with PayPal, and they will not listen at all. HOWEVER, I did a little sneaky thing myself (not knowing at the time). After the original purchase .... 3 batches of 6 eggs each $100. for each ($300. plus $15. shipping twice= $330.)..... After the hatch of the 2 mutts I then ordered 6 Splits at $20 each = $120. plus $40 postage ($160). Also had to pay for the shipping of the birds she agreed to = $40. I CAN now file a claim with Paypal for the $160 and the $40. because it has not been 45 days.

I have given her the option to refund the original money herself, or I will file a claim and it will be on her record. Is that fair?

Kathy, I had no idea who you got those from, individual or hatchery. Sounded like an individual, though, not an actual hatchery, and from the website, I'd say individual breeder. It would probably be fine to give a review by the "company" name under hatcheries, if you do it dispassionately and matter-of-fact-like, but if another staff member has a different persective, they may nix it. That is a HUGE amount of money to lose, certainly. You can use the old beta system for feedback, but that is really for BYC transactions, even if they weren't by auction.

Kathy...do the paypal complaint now and get it over with...it is clear she is not refunding money or you would not have the 2 chicks you have...you would have cash back.

Do as Cyn suggests...use the company name and give the transaction facts, post the pics and a buyer beware warning.

Oh and did I mention....I am getting my beautiful new arabian baby in October and I get to meet Beth's DH and see Beth again in November? No? Well I am neener neener neener

Now time to call the homeowner about this purchase stuff...no DH here no child here...just two women both being reasonable, I hope.

Oh heck, I thought she was putting the splits in for free as packing peanuts. What a mess. I do agree that you should make a paypal dispute that the birds arrived in poor condition and are not as described. Not sure how that'll work for ya, but go for it.

LH, YAY for eggs from the porcelain ladies! I still have my raggedy boy and the mille fleur girl who is nowhere near laying. He was badly picked before the July swap and still looks like junk. He has that "poor shoulder feathering" thing that happens to lavenders sometimes.....plus was half nekkid from the rooster pen. He has been out in the "big yard" ever since but just hasn't recovered too fabulously. The mille girl is a month younger than the rest and a slow bloomer

Those are the only two d'uccles I kept......sold a bunch at a sale, lost some to a hawk and gave the remaining 2 mottled girls and 4 porcelain girls to Amy aka HappyMtn for her EE pen. This mille girl escaped from me on the day she was to go to Amy and she didn't need a boy, so I have them here as a pair. They will still produce milles split to lavender if bred together. but I will probably sell them as a mixed pair if the boy ever doesn't look like junk again LOL.

My roostern pen now only has the 9 boys. I want to keep my mille cochin rooster, buff columbian/mille guy (or LH will get him), 1 split lav/mille cochin guy, and maybe my partridge cochin boy. Everyone else needs to go. If I can get down to these boys, i am going to move a few out to the big yard, and convert the rooster pen to a breeding pen (mille boy over mottled girls, I think). Pretty sure my angry mottled cochin rooster will not get along with the dominant mille cochin rooster, so one or the other will have to stay separate. Once I finish my 4x4 coop, I am going to stick another group of bantams in there....trying to convert my yard to mostly large fowl, to keep them safer from hawk attacks and from squeezing through the fence.

Milles are very slower growers....I talked about that with wegotchickens. I have a pair I got from her in July and they are half the size of Spike and his girls. She said that is very normal...they are slow bloomers.

Oh Kathy, what a rotten shame! I hope you can at least recoup this last bunch of money - you are right, it seems she has found the loophole- sneaky, sneaky ROTTEN!!! I was agreeing with Scott that maybe this was just an ignorant person until I read the part about her getting around the 45 days- now it seems too pat and too well thought out.

And HOW on earth are you going to get the leg band off that poor sweet chickie?

Can you at least do a thread like "Before you buy from Narrowgatepoultry (or whatever it was) contact me?"

And YES!!!! Joleta is going to become a Kentucky Babe and we are going to see Cetawin and meet everyone!!! Her DH and Cheyenne and Casca and I will get dissed by Athena personally and drool over Lancelot! We will stop on the way to Ohio- DH is taking me up to Ohio Nationals so I can see beautiful birds and maybe find some more Del breeders. And I get to meet Walt Leonard, too! Triple neener, neener!

I would simply start a thread with their name "Name of hatchery??" and some question marks.

Then within, ask for other's opinion on such and such hathery as you have had such a difficult time with them and are wondering if you are the only one and were "played" or if it was just a run of bad luck. Explain everything that happened, complete with pictures.

By doing so, not only will you find out if she has screwed others over, your "bad review" gets out there without simply being a bad review.
