O heavens, Livvie looks like a new girl! So happy and sparkly and that is SO good to see - many many more years for Olivia!! And I like the hairdo- that look costs a lot at the salons, you know!
So much better with the flatter tummy! Amazing what a little Liposuction can do for a girls' outlook on life!
Cyn, that really is great news to hear that she is feeling well enough to go romping around in the yard. I'll be keeping her in my thoughts and prayers that she continues to improve a little more every day.
And to continue the string of good news today, I'm happy to report that Abby has been making daily progress to a complete recovery. But please continue to keep your fingers crossed for her.
I fear she could backslide at any moment. She is, after all, 4.5 years old now, and hatchery stock to boot. But Abby is getting her spunk back, and will even slap one of the younger girls to get at one of her favorite treats if the younger girl should happen to get in her way!
She and FussyButt are still my Pump House Princesses, and that's fine by me. Abby provides a ready disposal system to those pesky moths that invade my monitor late at night!
Not to mention those godawful spiders! *eeeww! eeeww!! SHUDDER!!!*
Here's to her continued improvement and good health.
Must be a super lot of extra protein in those nasty moths and spiders!
We hired a gentleman with a HUGE machine to mow our front pasture, which we are not using. He "discovered" two white face hornet nests, which we gassed last night. However, I think DH missed a few, as I was just out on our screen porch overlooking the pasture, and there were three of them - HUGE ones, looking for a way in. I think they figured out where DH lives and they are out for revenge!
And have you ever noticed that even chickens won't mess with a bald face or yellow jacket, or anything with an appreciable amount of venom in them? I know mine won't. Mama [Mother Nature] didn't raise no dumb babies!
They seem to know that these things can cause them a world of hurt and therefore they leave them alone. But spiders are easy to kill and oh so delicious!
Oh good grief .... roost time tonight was total chaos in the layers' coop. Mama decided she was gonna have her babies roost up on the big girls' roost.
She had all the layers screaming and running for their lives.
Mama and babies were taking over the entire coop.
The others were running inside and outside, back and forth, back and forth, not knowing what to do! Finally, mama took the kids to the nest that they usually sleep in. Thankfully!
They don't look like terrors, do they? Well, they are!
Oh Kathy, I bet that was hilarious! I just love your Mama and those cutie chicks! Did the babies think Mama was nuts, or did they go for the roost business?
