Sorry to hear out about Reba CYn.

10 days smoke free here.

Had a tooth pulled yesterday it went pretty good just a little sore. Was talking to Mom a bit ago and she helps with the crime watch in her community. THey had an Angel Tree this year and the kids wrote letters to Santa. She was talking about one girl in particular. She is 6 and she asked Santa to please bring her family food for Christmas. I'm still crying. I worry about the stupidest things and here this little girl is hungry. I feel like a fool. I ask each of you to do something special for someone in need this season. Every little bit can help. Hugs to y'all

Brandon, 10 days! Whoo hoo!!

The bank downstairs at my work did Angel Tree this year. I took 3 tags, 2 boys and 1 girl. I like the ones where they ask for daily things and not "a really nice toy". So I got a young boy some pajamas, and a girl a nightgown (plus a toy for good measure). I usually do Toys for Tots too, but forgot to give the toy to my boyfriend in time (he is in charge of it at his work) so I took a 3rd Angel Tree tag for a young boy who wanted a toy, and he got it instead. It was a pretty neat toy dumptruck.

Oh Cyn,

I had so hoped she would turn the corner and make it through again. I hope for your sake as well as hers that she goes before you have to leave home.

May she go peacefully.

I am so proud of you!! How are your lungs feeling? Is it getting any easier to breathe? That would be worth the price of admission right there, by golly! Congrats and keep it up sweetie! So very proud of ya!

Nella, that is awesome! Good on ya girl! In years past, Denny and I used to go to the Salvation Army and select a family in need from their ever growing list of needy and deserving families. We'd do the whole nine yards. All the fixings for a nice Christmas dinner, toys and clothes for the kids and a gift card for the parents. Sadly, between inflation, building the house and a granddaughter that just got more expensive each year, we had to scale way back.

I really miss being able to do that. Thanks for stepping up Nella! That makes you a hero in my book lady!

Alrighty! Where the heck are Cetawin and Kathy? We've not heard from either of those wonderful ladies in some time! Ain't it time for those gals to check in?

Ranee was over the moon about her quilt-she was in tears! I knew she would appreciate it and cherish it.

Reba, to my surprise, was still alive and had shifted her position to face the waterer more when we got home about 5 p.m. Her color is very dark and she'll probably be gone by morning, but she is so tough, just like my Ivy was, not letting go until she absolutely has to. She has a nice warm reptile bulb over her to keep her as comfortable as we can overnight. When we left this morning, she was slipping as the shavings had separated under her. I asked Tom to pile her up a better bed and when he lifted her, she had pooped very watery stuff under there. He made her a cushy bed to support her belly and was stroking her and talking to her. She tried to talk back and did manage to get some sound out. He was in tears over her, telling her what a good girl she was, that it was okay to go. He sure loves that hen, as do I. We love them all, but some are just more special than others. I'll be a basket case when Gypsy goes. She's my absolute best friend in the flock.

Brandon, you keep that up. I was with my BIL today, watching him carry his oxygen unit out to the screened porch so he could have a smoke. He looks terrible-it's no way to live. Well, exist, really, since I can't consider it living.

I am so sorry Cyn...that Reba is such a beautiful girl. She needs to go on over that bridge and see Ivy, Glenda, Violet, Skye, Smoky, Tux and Hawkeye...they will be waiting for her. What loves and Thor with little Isis and all my girls will be there for her too.

YAY Brandon you rock! I had 2 teeth done yesterday, one simple extraction and one surgical (abcessed) so I resemble a chipmunk and am hurting but will survive. How are my silkie babies doing? We need to hook up for an exchange soon or after the holidays. Bill and I adopted a 2 year old off the Angel Tree in our Chiropractor's office. I just filled a giftee bag for him and dropped it off last Friday. Little Matthew will now have 2 CAT vehicles, a new coat, hat, boots and mittens, plus a Mickey Mouse shirt and stuffed Mickey Mouse (his requested favorite), he is also diabetic so he got some special baked goods just for his condition. We were thrilled to help him and his family out. We also did a care package for his parents with sweaters, jackets, gloves and canned goods plus a spiral ham. I love the Angel Tree idea here.

Duh coat not cost..typo correct

Cyn so sorry about that - updates?

Brandon you rock - so proud of you - help me quit now?

You are all such kind and giving people - proud to call you friends! THAT is what Christmas is truly about my friends

We brought Reba into the house. She is wrapped in a warm towel, sitting on a towel warmed in the dryer and directly next to the oil fired heater. She is basically non-responsive so it won't be long. Out there in the broody pen, even with the reptile bulb, she was chilly, I think. Suede and his hens were lined up watching her in silence-they knew. She can now pass on in peace and warmth in the house with us. It won't be long now. Tom is crushed-she is one of the hens who made this whole thing fun, as he put it.
