I got a package in the mail today. A surprise package. I know my eyes must have been big as saucers when I opened the box, as my mouth fell open. Mary (The Sheriff, AKA The Warden) sent me the surprise box.

You know, yesterday, Zane was crowing, but he sounded awful. He went on and on, determined not to let any of those other roosters outdo him. Today, he did not crow one time, almost unheard of with Zane, at least since we were trying to kick out the hock infection that almost killed him as a youngster. That tells me he feels rotten.

Will you look at that nice foot feathering? Very nice quality Silkie chicks, even if they aren't my cup of tea when they get older. Cute, cute, cute! Love the chocolate-looking one in the first pic. I swear, that one already looks male to me, LOL. Look at how it's standing.

Now if you can get them to cross with a Maran you'd have some prize winning eggs. Imagine what the dog would think of those running around? Thanksgiving would be a riot at your place. I can hear your husband now. "You've invited how many for dinner!!????

We used to have a rooster named "Cowboy Curtis" cuz he was a bantam frizzle and he used to like to ride on the backs of the big girls. Imagine what it would look like to see your roos riding on the backs of one of those babies. Yee haww! Chicken rodeo anyone?
