Recent pics to Share. Cheyenne had her friend over for the weekend and she wanted to hold chickens, do farm chores, brush the Diva Do and you name it. So here are some pics of her and some of my hoodlums...

With Nutmeg, daughter of Suede and Meg and also her and Hector, son of Suede and Meg, Hector is living and cohabitating with his girls and Lancelot. It looks like they are integrating well and I will have 2 big ole boys protecting my expanding layer flock. Hector is 1/2 Blue Orp, 1/4 RIR and 1/4 BO and HUGE. At 7 months old he weighs in at 9 lbs 3 ozs, sweet disposition like his daddy Suede and a dead ringer of his daddy in the face.

Some of my crew and now you can see why I call it my Menagerie'. Hens with spurs, chickens who do not think they are chickens and want to ride bicycles and play halo on the xbox and a spoiled rotten horse just for starters. A cat who allows mice inside but hunts them outside and a LGD that is a GOOBER!.

It was not a good idea, putting 2 broodies in the same brooder apartment. They are now sitting next to each other and one set of eggs (on the other side) are cold.

I also have a couple more broodies (which includes another Wheaten Ameraucana).
It has begun............

I think I am going break them all. Plans for the weekend will include rebuilding the brooder buster pen!

You are tooooo funny. After 305,000 posts, they are still "discussing" the difference between the 2!!!!!!!!!!!

You know I got the new PP mag and they've got a picture claiming to be an Araucana rooster and it has a TAIL! It also highlights rare breeds there, some of which are the Delaware and New Hampshire "Red". Mind you I don't care what YOU call it, I know they're both considered the same. Since I don't have any I don't care what you call it. At my age, I'd hate to die and the last thing I did was debate such things.

I can read the obit now.

Rancher Hicks passed away today cuz he got all excited about a debating no Red or Red , EE or Ameraucana. His family says they had to pry his fingers from the keyboard. They said he got so ticked off it sent his blood pressure through the roof! They said he was typing so fast his fingers melted the keys. His last words were. SCREW ALL THEM OTHER BREEDS IT'S DELAWARES FOREVER!!!!!! "

LOL Tim...nice obit but may I suggest one of those speech to type programs...just put on a headset, talk and the computer types...you can even walk away while it still types for you. Gives you time to calm down before keys meltdown.

Araucanas in Europe do have tails. See British Poultry Standards book here.

Rancher, calm down. I had gotten involved at one time a few years ago. A man was selling eggs on the auction as His roo was an Americauna, and his hens were EE's. The Ameraucana "clique" was all over him treating him as tho he was telling tall tails. He finally left and went to another message board. I went after him and bought some eggs from him. He was this real old guy with oxygen attached to him. I got to chatting with him, and he posted all these pictures of his kids with the birds, and the blue ribbons his Ameraucana roo won as an Ameraucana.

Gee I forgot my point!
