And now you know why I rarely ever poke my nose beyond the confines of the SDWD thread. I have enough drama in my life. I certainly don't need to go looking for more!

To answer Laura and Cyn's question: Oooh! I did indeed get some goodies. Fabric mostly. And a new feed and water dish combo for Emmett, though I'll only put feed in it, as he would make a gigantic mess if I put water in it. Nice little dish for just 75 cents. Like brand new!

Admittedly, this wasn't one of their best weeks at the thrift shop. For some reason, donations and consignments seemed to be a bit on the thin side.

It was enough to make me pine away for the months of April, May and June, when many of the active duty families are getting ready to move to a new billet. That's when we see tons of great items!

Two weeks ago, there had been an awesome rooster cookie jar. Dagnabbit! I knew I should have bought it when I had the chance. But, $30 was a bit too steep for my blood. Evidently, someone else thought it was a bargain, as it sure as heck wasn't there yesterday! Dang it!

It would have looked so cool on my kitchen counter someday!

So, I contented myself with the purchase of about 12-14 yards total of some great fabric for under $8!!

Bit by bit, my stash is growing! Kind of like weeds.

Is "dagnabbit" a word? I don't think I've ever seen it written

We got it at Lowe's. Was on sale for a good price, then they gave us a military discount on top of that, which made it a super great deal. They gave us a delivery date, then called to say it would be afternoon, then called to say it would be between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. and it was here before 2 p.m. Can't ask for any better than that! Kudos to Lowe's!

Funny thing happened when I was cleaning the former BR coop--since it wasn't originally built as a coop, it isn't mouse-proof like the others are. We had a cookie tin with a hole in the side we used to run a heat cable through for a waterer defroster. I wanted to sit Zane's waterer on it outside so grabbed it off the floor out of the front storage area of that coop, was shaking shavings and dust out of the hole in the side and I dumped out a very upset mouse! He scooted under the ramp, probably with his brains a bit scrambled, LOL.

Well, this morning I found out where the 3rd pigeon went-hawk dinner, found the spine. Last year I had 2 pigeons come live with me, I live in a very big racing pigeon area. Then they had 2 chicks when I wasn't looking. Then , grown up, one disappeared. Then a new one showed up. Then the other grown up chick disappeared. Then the last one who moved in disappeared probably a week or two ago. Found it's body but missing the head and the entrails. I guess I do have a hawk. Never seen him except when he ate my Polish chick. I guess he likes squab
