Some people!! My DH tells me yesterday that his best friend and wife were supposed to come friday but are coming today. Nobody comes. I ask DH about it (6pm) and he said they can't make it they'll come tomorrow (sunday). As much as I really like them, I have plans to ride my horse tomorrow. I couldn't today, I was waiting for company.

Ummm, DH would be entertaining them by himself.

Today Tyler went into the lawn mower shed and got a little surprise. A chicken jumped up!

He said it scared the crap out of him for a minute. Poor chicken..... she had to have been in there 3 days, as that is the last time anyone had that door open as far as we can recall. She ran for the water and feed. I hope the gas fumes from the mowers didn't make her sick.

I think I have determined which Del Rooster will get the honor of "hanging with the girls". The rooster in the middle has a pretty good bowl shape and he's wide. As you can tell from the photo, he has less of the orange/yellow color that most of my other del roosters have. I know that we have talked about not worrying about painting the barn until after the barn is built, but Walt gave me the impression that the coloring issue was more than just the environment and something that would have to be bred out.

I'd like to hear your comments on my del. Please don't feel like you have to hold anything back! I can take it!!! My birds aren't my pets, I am trying to improve the breed!

I vote for number three. Is he older than number two? He looks bigger. I definitely like number two and threes chests. Tails not so much and I expect number threes is the same as two's. Number three seems to have a more horizontal wing carriage.

I'm no expert and comparing them to the pic I have hanging on my wall. Number two is nice too.

With all that creativity, or passion, who has time to be neat!!!

"Poor planning and preparation on your part, does not constitute an emergency on mine"

I'd be riding when they got there. LOL

This rates right up there with "fashionalbly late". New flash ya'll there's not such thing. It's all about respect. Some don't get it and some don't have it. Such is life.

I'll stop here,

I am no Delaware expert but Number 1 is a NO...Number two is okay/nice body, tail is so so markings are so so wing carriage is off a bit as well, Number three has a good build, wing carriage is a bit off (if that is his normal carriage) but correctible with good girls but would like to see better shot of his head and tail. I would not use Number one and Number two is questionable Number three looks to be the better bird without seeing head and tail better.

Michael,
I understand your concern about the yellowing. I just don't understand it enough to comment on that. If I were you, I would keep both #2 and #3 and hatch from them both. Keep them marked, so you know which cockerel they came from, and see what they produce.
Good luck!

I agree Tim. I can handle running 30 minutes or an hour later, crap happens but changing days and trying to ruin my weekend...not gonna happen around here. Not at last minute, I do not tolerate such nonsense and rudeness... Had out of town quests coming in, due to arrive Friday between 3pm and 6 or 7pm...then not till Saturday and then at 11pm on Friday they call and say they will be in an hour. I directed them to the nearest hotel! I expect friends to treat me as they wish to be treated end of story, rudeness gets the same reply.

I like that idea. I am concerned about the yellowing because it is almost as if the New Hampshire color is coming back...I am not sure what to do. I know that the one of the far left is definitely a cull...it is just plain bad. I do have two others. I'll have to take some more pictures to get comments. They have bandettes, but they are covered in mud and hard to read right now....weather has been poor.
