Kathy, I absolutely LOVE the videos of Fred & Wilma! I feel like I know them already. Some day lady, don't be a bit surprised if you get an unexpected visit from me, just to meet those two!

What a pair!

Cyn, I sure hope Riley pulls through. She's such a pretty little thing.

We had a very interesting and fun visit from one of Mother Nature's own yesterday morning:

This little yearling white tail doe has been making the rounds throughout the neighborhood. Nobody seems to know where she came from, or who she might belong to, but she just has to be somebody's pet. She's the friendliest little cuss you'd ever want to meet. Yes, this is my hand in the picture, giving her a nice bit of scritches behind the ears!

She seems to just love human companionship......oh...and service berry blossoms!

I sure hope she comes back for another visit today. Her company is totally delightful, regardless of what she eats!

Kathy, it looks like that hen is staring at him as well!
Love the Emu videos, and their names, LOL

I'm losing another one, a 10 week old Polish. Do you think it's better to euthanize now or wait? She still eats and drinks, she just can't walk.

Kathy, yes, that's Chief's "Wait, WHAT?" look. The Del hen is Madison who was later "goosed" by the doe, much to Maddie's distress and the doe's delight!

Karen, I hate to say this sweetie, cuz I always try to give each bird the benefit of the doubt, but knowing that you do have Marek's at your place, I'd say end her suffering now. Why prolong the inevitable? Sorry to hear that you are loosing another one to that despicable disease.

Cyn, what a beautiful picture! Isaac is so handsome!

Serrin, thanks. I feel that way too. I know it's inevitable , but it's hard to euthanize a chick that looks happy, eats, drinks, preens, but can't walk. That happy face just kills me.

Cyn, Issac looks like he "owns all the eye can see"

Sem, so sorry that you are losing another one

Amy, great pics!

Here is what is happening in my coop today. There are three chickens in the top pic. Yes that is egg on her head. I took the eggs out after taking the pic. Shug, the one on the right is thinking about going broody. For the past few nights and mornings she has been on the nest and yells at anyone that dares to come near. However during the day she is not interested at all. I have a BR, Speckles, that has gone broody and is now happily sitting on a dozen eggs from Wynette. I have a NH that was thinking about it too. I also have my little Black ameracuana, Boo, that has hatched 1 baby this morning and still has 6 more eggs under her.

I absolutely LOVE your pictures, Laura!

Today, the same thing was happening here!

I worked on the layers coop ALL day. Nest were all stripped. I let the broody girls out of the Broody-Buster while I worked. I had SIX girls in one nest. I have a wall of nests, and they all wanted the same one. There are only 4 in this picture.

I pulled these 2 girls out of the nest, and then decided to get a picture. I wish I would have got a picture of all 6 of them, but I was a bit worried that someone was going to suffocate!

Desperate times call for desperate measures. This girl is in the dump-tub, under a shovel.
