I wouldn't be surprised if it were Gideon

I am hoping I won't have any problems with moving more girls in with Roy. I have one more rooster to re home, hopefully with two girls. I don't mind keeping the girls but I think it might be easier to re home the roo if he had a couple of girls to go with him.

Tom's dad was taken to the hospital with COPD at 80 yrs old, plus has other issues. Tom is worried about him. Of course, the favored brother, the one with COPD/emphysema himself who is on oxygen and still smoking was the one called, not the "white sheep" of the family, my DH.

I have a bantam rooster with an impacted crop, if you can believe it. Angus is in the house. He has been having weird spells where his comb will go really dark for awhile. On May 25, I let the group free range and he, Sunny and Shadow went into the grow out pen and ate grass. Well, I guess he doesn't get how to eat grass and today, I realized his chest seemed way too big. When I picked him up, he was thin and the crop too full, so we've been working on him all day long.

Emily has a leg injury-she's already snapped out of her broodiness and her bumblefoot is healing up fine, but her hock is clearly painful so she is in Zane's cage above Nugget. She isn't eating much at all, either, and I'm concerned about her.

Suede seems to have punctured his foot between his toes and it was swollen on top between the toes-we've let out infection and bandaged it, but there is a piece of something in there that is trying to come to a head so I'm worried about him.

Dottie acts like she's grieving for a chick she didn't even want, poor confused hen. She is so thin and her appetite is off.

So, I feel like selling off half of everybody and cramming the rest in the bantam coop, I swear. I'm sort of tired of it all right now, imagine that!

Lovely quilt, Cyn! The picture looks great, too!

I have a Barred Rock boy (Harry) that is a bit older than the ones I hatched of yours on Feb 1st, Cyn. He is a hormonal mess! He mates with anyone he can catch! I had to pen him. I had him with the group of grow outs, but I guess he is done with that!

Drusilla's brother and sister............

Harry, the hormonal mess!

Here they are together............

Awww, it will get better. I'm so sorry you are having so much stress right now. I know it can sure get ya down. Wish there was something I could do to help.

Thanks, Kath, I appreciate it. Guess it will pass eventually. Just too much going on at one time for my taste.

Those Rocks look really great, Kathy, they really do. The barring is just so, so, precise! And the Stukel Rock hens are just as sweet as any hatchery Rock girls I've ever owned, especially Wynette. They are super sweet and friendly. I was afraid I'd lose the Rock personality I loved when I went for the quality, but it didn't happen. Dru is looking good, too, just like her mama, and she's HUGE.

ETA: I think I should go to bed. I'm so darn tired, maybe I should listen to my body. Hope I can catch the phantom crower tomorrow morning. Good night, friends.

No, I didn't! I kept seeing Gideon do that thing with his head and neck and act like he was about to belt one out this morning, then nothing. He'd hear the bantams crow, then Suede, then he'd act like that...nada. I didn't hear that crow this morning, either, but I stood in that coop and around the pen and watched Gideon for maybe 30 minutes, hoping he'd let loose. He even did the wing flap thing, stretched out his neck, opened his mouth and not a peep.
