Cetawin, I ordered a few cups. I think it might be easier to add ice to a bucket like that.

No, they didn't get in. I was filling it for Fred and Wilma. They didn't get in either. They prefer the pond.

What is this one saying? I know she had something on her mind!

Seminolewind....I put a 10 lb bag of ice in the 5 gallon bucket and put just enough water in it to cover the filter and flow end inside....the ice melts slowly and gives them a continuous low of cold water. I recommend using a silicone sealer around the connector against the bucket. It peels off easy enough but it keeps any slow leak stopped. Remember you are trying to put something flush on a rounded surface.



Kathy OMG they are still adorable and hysterical. That Wilma is a speedy girl. And that girl is yelling "DAYUM IT IS HOT....DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT HUMAN!"

We are all surviving here....I have another broody on 6 eggs...Jet the silkie is broody again!

Nope. No fencing done yet. They don't wander far from my side. If I sit down, they come sit with me. I do have a pen and coop for them, but we let them out whenever someone is outside - which is most of the time. If I come inside to get something, they wait for me at the door. We are building fence - hopefully in the next couple weeks - and a new shelter for them. They are out there "helping" Mike mow right now. They are a great help.

The neighbors love them. They ride in their gator and come over to have Fred and Wilma follow them to the pond. 4th of July party at the pond tomorrow night...... I imagine Fred and Wilma will want to check that out.

Dottie is clucking her heart out. She just killed two chicks as they were hatching at the end of May and now, she's already going broody again?

That was just her practice run. She has it all figured out now and wants to go for it.
