Seminolewind....I know why your girly passed out with the penicillin shot and you are gonna laugh after I say it....it is a reaction to the injection of peniciilin that is too cool and injected to quickly most often...it makes even humans lightheaded, dizzy and sometimes faint. I have passed out twice from penicillin shots. It is a painful shot.

As to all this political crap....they can kiss my tan behind. I ain't tagging and numbering my birds, I ain't telling them crap and they better have a warrant if they come here and step a foot on my property. I am sick of all of it and if they catch me mid-hot flash it could turn out to be a replay of the Custer's Last Stand with only one Indian.

Lacy Blues...I tried to reply to your PM but am getting a message that your inbox is full? Beadwork the size of the Suede project on braintan would start around $500.00....her piece is 15" x 15" with the bird being 12" x 8" at the widest, half a braintanned deerhide and tens of thousands of beads....I do bead smaller projects like amulet bags and such but you do not get the detail that I did with Suede...that is why he is that big. I began with the idea to make him fit in and 8 x 10 frame....I was not impressed with the face detail at that size so I made him bigger. He is a big guy anyway. :) Amulet bags run $125.00 - $300.00 depending on the materials used and beads used. But I spent 8 months beading Suede...he has been worth every second of it too as I am very pleased with him.

Speaking of him...he is nearly done....will post pics of him all finished soon...promise.

I was reading an ad for homemade goat's milk soap somewhere - was it here on BYC? - anyway, they had marijuana scented soap. Really?
Do you have that kind?

Just what I want to smell like, ya know? Yeah, go to work with that scent! Get stopped by a cop for a traffic violation with that scent. Yeah - right!
I about died laughing when I read that! What do ya use to make it with - legally?

Kathy they would make a marijuana scent using different grasses and plants...it would not be from the real stuff...I hope. And eeeeeewwww what a smell.

My soap is a bit tricky because of it being detergent free (aka only a trace amount of lye as opposed to the strong normal usage)...so goat milk naturally is a low lather soap but without the "detergent" it is even more so. It feels slick and moisturizing in use and a squeaky clean after rinsing but the skin is so soft after your skin dries. I will drop you a sample in the mail...you prefer the Cranberry or Chocolate Buttercream. I have some sample sized of those two just in case you do not like it. I also have Spice Plum and Honey scrub (with real oatmeal in it which is wonderful!) and the Juniper Breezes.

Lacy Blues...I think it was a glitch because I tried PMing Speckledhen after I posted earlier and it told me the same thing and I know better. I do custom work and in all honesty I enjoy doing it so I will negotiate on pricing of some things just for the challenge or the enjoyment. Did you have a bird you were interested in having done? If So, post a pic of the birdy and I will tell you if I think I could even do it. Please Gawd do not say Barred Rock or Dominque. hahahahaha

Oh my gosh... I just read the whole ordeal with Dede and as I knew I would, I ended up being all choked up and teary-eyed while trying to read it to my daughter. Good job with the fox!

Then I read a few more posts about everybody having trouble with Mareks.

Here's something I have learned in regard to Mareks Disease.

Turkeys carry a milder form of it. If you have turkeys or someone you know has turkeys and you can get a few bags of litter from their coop, do it. It can save the lives of your birds.

Chickens can catch this milder form and you won't even realize they have it, its that mild. And it makes them immune to the chicken version of Mareks.

My first year breeding Andalusians, I lost over half of my hatch to Mareks. Then I got some turkey litter and haven't seen it since. If you know kids in 4H who are raising turkeys (they come from an NPIP source, generally) so it would be safe to do this. I only got it the one year so I think perhaps it is passed on in the immunity.
Thanks, that's a very good idea. I'll have to find some. It's a nasty disease and I've never cried so much.

Cyn, thanks for the head's up on the thigh shot. Hopefully I won't have to give it.
