OH, LadyHawk, thank you so much for the picture show! I love them! The one on one leg cracked me up. What a pose! The huge white cochin looks great, too. I love BIG chickens! Speaking of big, did you see any Brahmas or Jersey Giants?

Ya gotta get a better picture of Hedwig. I wanna see her colors!

There are a lot of LBs but I did not see one Jersey Giant in 3 barns full of birds! There were no Ancona ducks either and only one pair of GWH ducks...the porcelain d'uccles would not have stood a chance against my 3 HA!

follow the link to the public album and see all the pics I took. Breeder birds are so much larger and healthier looking...it would take two of my SLW (Speckles) to make that one SLW hen. She was big and gorgeous!

Love the pics LH!! Wish I could've made it, but i'm kinda overrun at the moment. In a moment of lunacy i now have 26 eggs in the bator with a possible six more on the way.

OK, I'm back ..... had to watch LadyHawk's slide show twice. I have never even heard of half of those. WHITE Turkens? WHITE Ameraucanas? I did not know....

Game birds seem to be popular. I don't get it though. I think they are ugly, really. Weird looking leggy things.

The black Orp you showed ..... English? Not really as fluffy as some of the English???

I can hardly wait to go to a big show. I plan to go to Shawnee, Oklahoma in December.

Got everyone rearranged today. 4 evil boys moved from the big rooster pen to the small 8x8 covered pen. Should be perfect for winter for them. Safe from hawks, covered from rain and snow, and perfect space for 4 bantam roosters who hate everyone else LOL.

Got new pix of my evil mille fleur rooster. His face and comb are still a bit pecked up from his attempted murder of my other rooster. But darn is he pretty. The hackles should not be black, but that is very common in that project currently. He has the best mille fleur markings i've seen on these birds so far. GREAT chest mottling. he is actually mille marked all the way down to his toes.

He is extremely dominant.....top rooster in the rooster pen and gives EVERYONE a run for the money. I think he was the one who nearly killed my mottled rooster a while back also. So he will always have to stay penned alone, with his 3 amigos or with girls.

The pen in the background of that second picture is their 'new pen'.

Also got 3 of the 4 broodies set up. Already had the bantam cochin in her brooder.

She is still angry

I moved the little silkie hen into the brooder above her.

She is hilariously funny.

Here is a picture of the brooders with the girls moved in and the lights on.

The big rir/cochin hen got moved into the bottom half of my big brooder shed. She was NOT HAPPY about it. Her and the silkie both just have wooden eggs and I will give them real eggs tomorrow.

Here is a better picture of that brooder shed with the doors open.

And with doors closed.

In case you haven't noticed, it is an old tack shed. See the saddle rack on the right? It used to have two solid doors but i removed the 2nd and replaced with the mesh one. I did not build it.....bought it from someone for $100 or so about 3 or 4 years ago.

Nella,
Nice pictures! You have been very busy today, haven't you? I cleaned and moved everyone a while back and they are still all stressed out from the moves. I love all your broodies. YES, give em eggs! What kind? Your mille fleur rooster is quite handsome, for sure!
