I can see her explaining why Fred, a girl, is named Fred and answers to it.

Mary (The Warden) has an Icelandic named Fredrika.... that could be Fred, for short!

Anyone from other states who have bills proposed to require vaccination for Salmanella? Anyone got info on whether the hatcheries will offer this new vaccine for ND and Marekss?

Cyn, I am so sorry

. Please do not think you've failed her, you have helped her in her journey. Right now she is telling Hawkeye all about the goings on at home since he left and they are both missing you. I am sure she is telling Ivy and Kate and Glenda how much you miss them.

@ Beth - LMAO well come on and freeload all you want...the grain will be good and so will the hay.

Speaking of which, I was in the truck going to the poultry show and I got 3 emails, each had a picture of Joleta Bey attached. I was so happy and instantly in love...Now Nov. cannot get here fast enough for me. Here she is this morning looking for breakfast:

@Kathy - not one chicken or animal purchase for me HOWEVER I was unable to stop Sarah. She sold a ton of her extras and Fred..then she saw this frizzled Serama Rooster and bought him as a "house chicken" so he had to have girls...so she bought a mottled and a splash bantam old english game hen and a red bantam turken.

As she is moving into a little cabin, she is setting them up in a cage inside. They are adorable. LOL And unusual. The turken is for her DH who loves turkens. LOL

I will put the link to the public album when I upload the pics of the show....OMG there was a white cochin roo that was absolutely HUGE as was his girl.

Sarah is moving from the farm into a small cabin and she is moving the horses to another field and downsizing her birds...Fred needed another goose and a lady had a Chinese Gander that lost his mate and is very lonely so it was perfect....now Fred has a new friend and mate of the goose variety. Sarah and I will both miss Fred and her antics but she is now at a great new home.

I know how precious they are to you. I hope your other girl hatches you some sweet surprises.
I have been lurking off and on too. It is a source of support and I love to see what everyone is doing. I laugh, I cry. but sometimes I just don't write anything at all:confused:
I am still getting ready for winter here. I have put in a floor, put up thick plastic over wire windows etc. It really takes awhile if you are doing it alone.
My Dels are really filling out. One in particular is getting quite broad. Hum, Its Lucky the one who is colored the best and is soooo sweet. Shen I saw Kathys pic it could have been her this morning. She turns her head and looks at me like that. Naturally she gets picked up and petted more than the others.

Thank you all. I'll miss Maxie when she goes, but my black Rock, Emily, has five little Dellie eggs underneath her and she is getting the hang of this broody thing finally. All are Ellie's, but Ellie is my best colored hen with a very nice comb and a chunky build and it will be nice to have her daughters (they WILL be daughters, ya hear???!)

Bought some fabric today at Walmart for a watercolor-type quilt for my pal, Ellie, in CA. It will be a 9 patch in dark, med, and light values arranged like an impressionist painting. I may need input on the block arrangement, but I have about 63 blocks to do so it will be awhile before I can start the actual arrangment.

Gloria Jean, hope you're feeling better, sweetie.

Goodness woman....did you finally get some of Angie's Go Go Juice? Another quilt? You jst made my tablecloth/quilt and a beautiful quilt. Slow those fingers down gal. LOL

The poultry show upload is taking place now....lots of pics...

Here is Hedwig...it was a bit dark in the garage except for the overhead lighting...I will get better pics of her

Aw, Hedwig looks sweet. I had to remove the two eggs of June's that were under Emily or I might have a chance for a sister of Hedwig and Chipper's. Didn't want to risk the Dels not hatching if she kept thinking there were too many underneath her. That seemed to satisfy her and she is doing well. Tomorrow is Day 4 for Em.

Ladyhawk, I have to keep moving or I'll turn to stone. Quilting keeps me off the streets and out of jail.
