They are just too precious! And get this: When I said to DH this afternoon that if Maggie goes broody again in the spring, I'm gonna let her have as many as she can fit under her fluffy little butt! He said, and I quote "Hey! That would be a ton of fun to watch her running around with a half dozen or so little ones! Yeah! We should do that!" My jaw just dropped and you could have knocked me over with a feather! This from the man who tells me daily that I have too many chickens!

I wonder if he has any idea of how contradictory he's being?

A pip at 1 a.m. By 4 a.m. there was a lone Delaware baby hatched. As far as I can tell, no other pips so far, but oh, puleeeeze, let at least one other hatch!

Odd night. Went to bed about midnight. About 30 minutes later, on the baby monitor, I hear Zane crowing. Zane, who never, ever crows during the night, who never crows until Suede and Isaac have been tag team crowing for awhile in the morning, crowed twice. DH went out to see if something was wrong, if someone was lurking around the coops. Then, I hear in the distance, someone's mule or donkey braying over and over. Wonder what was disturbing all the animals last night?

Cyn....weird you say that!

I got up around 330am for a potty break and 2 roosters were crowing here. One of mine and one of my FILs some 300yds away. On the way to take Landon to school today there were A LOT of dead opossums and raccoons in the road.....very strange indeed. Something had the animals moving last night, that is for sure
