Dang, it is cold here today. 28* now, and only getting up to 40. Shoot. It is almost 7:30, and time to let the chickens out. I suppose I will have frozen water everywhere.
Beth...dang I have been remiss....I shall send it within the hour. Tell Jack I am sorry
confirmation email received from transport... My Horsey is going to be picked up Sunday...SHE BETTER BE PICKED UP SUNDAY
Well, we shall be leaving around 12:30 to go to the Cadet Corp for dinner with the General
...all my dishes and bread are done soooooo now time to try to find something semi-formal to wear, not something I keep handy these days because the chickens do not approve.
It's a heat wave I tell ya! Woke up to a sweltering 8 degrees on the PLUS side of the zero!
It's snowing lightly but is expected to get heavier later in the day. From here to Saturday we are forecasted to get another 6 to 8 inches of white stuff!
I boiled up the sweet potatoes last night so that they'd be easier to handle today, but I think a couple of chunks are still gonna manage to fall to the floor. You know how slippery those buggers can get after boiling and refrigerating. Oh darn the luck! Can't put that in with the rest of the sweets. Dear me! I suppose they'll just have to go out to the chickens!
Hey! They deserve a special treat too, don't they? And I have it on very good authority that Maggie and the girls are rather fond of sweet potatoes. There sure wasn't anything but skin left of the one that came with them in the shipping crate!
So, since it's warming up nicely towards a high of about 20+ today, I think the boys can go back outside. They'll be a lot happier for it I'm sure. And it will give me a chance to clean up the mess in the pump house. Though I must say, the boys have been much more tidy than the girls ever thought of being in here. The boys seem to be less inclined to scatter their food everywhere for one thing.
Well, as y'all can see, lots to get done today, so I'd best get moving. I hope everyone has a wonderful day, filled with good food, good company and a comfy couch to stretch out on and digest for awhile. Remember to let at least two hours go by before you go back for 3rds!
Kathy, tell Mike I'm going to try real hard to get some current pictures of Maggie and the girls, just for him. Any man who could miss a little girl that much deserves to be kept up to date on how she's doing!
And if it's any consolation, Denny has adopted all three as his favorite birds. I can hardly wait for spring when they can be outside with him more often. I bet ya dollars to donuts they become his shadow!
Mike told the kids we are not having turkey today. He told them we are roasting one of our Jersey Giants instead. Goof ball.
Oh yes, Amy, Maggie loves sweet potatoes! I make them alot here, and they all go crazy for them. Ohhhhh, and cranberries too .... they will eat all of our leftovers today. Tomorrow will be hot turkey sandwiches, if there is any left. I think I like the left overs as much as the fresh meal (especially since I don't have to cook!)...

amen! I cooked yesterday and today so I am taking a rest tomorrow and tonight. My chickens sweetpotatoe too also butternut squash cooked. They are sure something digging into it. The young dells are getting over their molt except for their tail feathers.
I want tailfeathers. They were so pretty before they lost them. I will be glad when molting is over. I want pretty hens again. They look so miserable with all the stickers showing. Like pincushions.
Oh well soon maybe. Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. Gloria Jean
OMGosh .... I am stuffed! Whew, I ate wayyyyyyy too much!
I am gettin' ready ...... gettin' ready ...... gettin' ready for tomorrow! I LOVE Black Friday! Get outta my way folks, cuz here I come!
This year it won't be as fun, I think. I am only after 3 computers. Won't have to run all over the stores, just stand in place and wait.
I have such funny stories of Black Friday shopping. One year all the kids had to go (adults). They each had their assignment, of what to get. We were like nearly first in line. It ended poorly (for me). The only 2 that retrieved their items were me and daughter-in-law. Come to find out, my boys were at the head of their lines, yes ..... and they handed out the items! WHAT???? You did WHAT???? Oh yes, being helpful....
