Cyn...I am so sorry, you should have called. It would have given me a break from the darkness hovering here.

I am alive and not incarcerated as is FIL so I guess the day was not too bad, they are a motel now and will return in the morning.

Brandon...we are well thank you darling for asking.

Janelle those are awesome finds...mine never has stuff like that dang it but I keep stalking the place each time I go to the grocery store.

Golden Campines..........I only have the one rooster. Not sure if bantam or LF. I think I got him out of the assorted bantam bin at TSC....but he seems Large Fowl sized. He is about the size of a mediteranean rooster.....anywho, he is very skittish....just starting to bother the girls. he is not top dawg, so he gets his butt kicked every morning. he grabs a girl, she screams, the other boys come running and he gets knocked off and whooped. He did get over the fence somehow recentrly. I didn't even notice......until the next morning when I went out to let the chickens out and he was running around outside the fence freaking out. I left him for an hour or two to see if he could find his way back in but he never did figure it out...so I had to herd him towards the gate, prop the gate open and herd him in. He can easily fly up from the ground to the railing.....anywhere from 6 feet to about 12 feet. No problem. I don't clip wings on my boys.....if they want to fly off and escape, knock themselves out. I only clip wings on the girls if they are chronic escape artists, which is rare these days. Last time I clipped any wings on a girl was my evil tree sleeper........thank goodness I broke her of that habit before winter.

Anyways, gorgeous bird......he does just fine here, but would love to send him on to a new home since he is trying to breed the girls, and I have zero interest in hatching out campine mixes.

As you can tell, I have a new keyboard! LOL. I did not fix my laptop keyboard, however I did get an old usb keyboard and hooked it up. I'm jammin' now, ha ha ha ha.

As far as the broody thing goes.....this hen is not sweet at all. Looks are deceiving LOL. She is quite aggressive......but is not a first time broody and did a good job on her previous "kids"....

Here is a more accurate picture.

Because she is in her own 2x4 brooder, she has a bowl of scratch and layer pellets (now switched to gamebird crumble) and a big bowl of water. She has been doing good getting off the nest and having a snack...doesn't hurt that everything is RIGHT There, and she is protected from the other chickens/roosters/etc.

Here are pix of her and her previous kids.......

Broody with the other broody girls

They even tried sitting in a single cat litterbox together.

She is a very experienced and aggressive broody. I don't personally think she keeps her kids long enough.....she is more interested in giving them up, spending a few weeks being normal and then going broody again. But she is really good at the first part.....and when she gives up these boogers, they will just go with all the other "kids".

Crazy broodies.....

Awww! Cuteness overload Nella! Next to the boys, I love the little mama's best!

No matter what their regular personality is, you just gotta love them when they're taking care of the babies!

Y'all will never guess who is cuddled up with whome out in the boys house tonight. OK, well, maybe you will. Brutus and Red are back to being inseparable again!

Crazy boys! But I'm relieved. For the moment, I don't have to try to figure out who I'm going to put where and where could I put another small coop.

Now if they can just stay friends till spring and I can figure something else out for them.

Cyn, I wish there were something I could do to help you find your way out of this mood. Has the weather been bad down your way lately? I know if it rains for several days on end here, I tend to slide into a black funk too.

Please let us know if there is anything we can do to brighten your day! You have only but to say and we're there!!!

OK, tons of running around to do tomorrow that we never got out to take care of today on account of all of the shoveling from this latest round of snowfall. I'll be so happy when DH decides he has enough of a snow base down on the driveway to be able to use the snow-blower safely and not have to worry about sucking rocks up into the dang thing! I ache in places I forgot existed!

I'm heading for bed folks. Hope you all have sweet dreams tonight and every night. I know what Cetawin is going to be dreaming of.....if she ever goes to sleep that is!

Here Horsey! Horsey! Horsey!!!

I completely forgot to post on here on Thanksgiving! SHAME on me! Happy late Thanksgiving everyone. Hope you all enjoyed it very much! From what I can see you did. I decided to spend it with my mom this year, so I helped her cook and then had plenty of fun at some other relatives'. Excuse me if I've already told you all this? I think I've been doing that lately...

First pot of coffee nearly finished. Still too dark out to let the chickens out.

We played, "Apples to Apples," game last evening. That is a fun game, and the little guys could join in, too. Some played Rummikub. Got another game we haven't played yet, "In a Pickle." My favorite game is Scrabble. Son, Travis, and I always challenge each other. When our kids were young and at home we played lots of games. Do you all play table games?
