Scott, so sorry to hear about your job loss. Such a common story these days it seems. My own company laid off a 5 months pregnant single lady. Can't beat that

. It all worked out fine for her in the end, but at the time how horrible!

Cetawin, Happy Birthday! 29 looks better and better every year doesn't it? LOL

Rancher, Congrats on the little munchkin! Better get your SPOIL-ROTTEN plan all worked out

On random news, I was talking to my old lady neighbor last night and she asked if I had "lost" some chickens.....I told her about the hawk attack and she said she had found a body in her yard. As far as I can tell, I haven't had any losses since the weekend, but I didn't have a chance to count heads last night as it was dark by the time I got to the coop to lockup.

Hey Tim! Congrats on the arrival of the grand baby!!! What a lovely name too! Of course, you do understand that such a momentous occasion requires that pictures be posted here, right?

As I'm so fond of saying: Pictures, or it didn't happen!

Scott, if nothing else, look at this as an opportunity to get all of those pesky little "Honey Do" list items done! You could put in an hour or two every morning in online job searches and submitting applications, and the rest of the day just puttering around the house!

Just think of how ready for winter you'll be this year! ..........Sorry......I'm just scrambling for any positive slant I can put on this. I really am sorry that you've lost your job.

ladyhawk hope your birthday is a happy one.

serrin found my camera so I got pics and will post soon.
lots going on and the spoiling has begun in earnest. lol DW keeps trying to restrain me. The closet is always full cuz when I see something I buy it and save it. Bought my GS a John Deer rocking horse at TSC before he was born. He'll be walking so and I be able to give to him. Got tea sets and books and cloths. Hope I'm alive to give to them. If it's on sale and to big I buy it and put away. Some day they'll fit. LOL

Hillbilly love the dog. any dog that won't eat chickens is a good dog.

talk to you folks later

CONGRATULATIONS rancher - we need pics we must have pics of the new arrival. Darcy is such a fun name...every Darcy I ever met has been full of energy, smiles, goodness and laughter.

Nella I am so sorry the neighbor found one of your birds...I am keeping my fingers crossed that the hawk has moved on.

What a beautiful family rancher....Darcy is a beautiful baby. Congratulations again. Hug the baby for me

What a precious little face! And what a great picture of both your girls. Please let Darcy know she is one darling baby, and her mama one lucky woman!

Rancher she is precious, I just want to squeeze her close. I'll send a special prayer up for her and her Mom. Moms need lots of them

Scott, I really do not know what to say. They really do not know what kind of person they have lost. My prayers are with you and your family, for sure.
Today I held Bonnie, My little blue pullet rock. She is so sweet and comes right to me. She got a treat of blueberries and liked them so good I named her Bonnie, a type of blueberry. I also held Lucky a Del that is extra friendly. At first I thought she was a boy but the tail is black with white edges at 14 weeks. The comb is no bigger than the others either. Therefore she is Lucky to be a hen. So far they are my favorites of the group of hatched eggs you sent me. I still do not see a side sprig on the little blue roo. I definitely believe the other two Dels. are female too.

Happy birthday Cetawin and belatedly to Kathy. I have not felt well and just have not been posting much.

Love you all Gloria Jean
