Scott - that recipe makes 2 - 8" x 8" square cake pan style pans.

I am going to try making a couple larger ones like a 11 x 13 or so, I will let you know if that recipe fills that and/or more.

Amy - the recipe can be changed up so easily for whatever you have on hand. I have added grapeseed oil, flax seed oil, fruit, nuts, fresh berries etc etc...whatever I have on hand as long as the consistency stays the same, it seems to work fine.

Well further reading revealed her recipe for stopping mean roosters from biting and I quote "I had one too that pecked at my legs, so I swatted him with a piece of board. He watches out for me now."

That didn't work for me. I had a really aggressive Jersey Giant rooster who turned on me one day. I had a 2x4 I used like a baseball bat on him repeatedly and he still came after me. it was an epic battled worthy of being in a movie. Me vs 16lb, 30" tall angry rooster. We were both bleeding by the end of it. I won. He went to a farm that keeps the girls locked up for eggs and lets the roosters free range for bug control. With no girls to protect he was decent to be around, supposedly. Even jumped on the trampoline with the kids (LOLOL). My own theory is his jumping was really attemps at flogging, but hey, lets think positive.​

Well Nellabean, just like with recipes they dont' all turn out good, so maybe that was the case with your roo. Either that or you didn't swat him hard enough.

If he was still standing that may be why it didn't work.

Each night lately, I have an Icelandic girl that wants to roost outside. She is above a 6 foot gate. I let her stay out til last. Silly girl .... Do you all have any birds like that?

I prefer the grab and chuck method

Grab rooster by the neck and chuck him across the yard. DH prefers the punt method. LOL

Whatever works...use it

LOL, I am a big fan of the punt method myself. I actually had a bruise on my shin once from that. I'm also a big fan of the tail feather grab and fling

Kathy, I have two ladies who roost in a tree at night. It is covered in ivy and tall....I just have not been able to even knock them out of it. They are pretty well covered though. Some day I will catch them and clip their wings....someday.....

Absolutely horrible heat here today. I think it was the worst early morning we have had so far. I LOVE summer, but won't lie and say Fall is looking better and better!

I trapped one raccoon last week, but none since then. Last year I got 7 in a week. So, I can not let her stay outside. I padlock all my coop doors and popdoors each night. I am too afraid to leave them out. So far she goes in when I get there to lock up.
