Dusty is on the nest, so looks like I'll have six eggs from Dusty and Smoky together, plus I'm adding Meg's egg from today. Hopefully, this batch will be fertile and develop.

Well, I changed out Pepper's bandage one more time, even though the scale has mostly grown back!

I have no idea. But I moved her back to the coop. I think she's been having to lay but wanted to go in the nest boxes.

Amy, per usual I am the last one to the finish line - I just caught up and I am SO sorry about sweet Lisette - what a heartbreaker! But I am equally glad that Cosette seems to have escaped it, and gave a little blue egg in consolation!

Cyn, good luck with the eggs.

Put the old ladies in their coop, then went to put up Suede and the main flock, then realized I left the double doors into the old girls' coop unlocked. Just as I was about to lock the door, I peeked in, saw the three oldest on the top roost bar like usual, knew Panda was in a nest (she sleeps in one and never poops in it), but Shadow wasn't on her special separate roost bar. Went inside and found her on the floor level nest, but realizing she laid an egg early this morning, reached in to pet her and she growled at me. Then, told DH to pet her to test her and she growled at him!

Shadow may be going broody.
