Yay babies! I am wanting to hatch again. So much for downsizing! good thing I lent Lori my incubators! LOL. I gave the one broody eggs today and I'm already excited.....she still has to make it 21 days! she is a first time broody too.....

Anyone else here NOT a fan of the superbowl? I'm currently watching the puppybowl on Animal Planet while I wait for dinner to finish in the oven.

I can't get Animal Planet.

I have never liked the bowl games!!! I know I am probably in the minority that way, I much prefer Nova or some such to watch. Planet Earth is good too when I can get it. I even like the SC. Pbs making it grow show. I am not as much a fan of the NC pbs. I love my gardening shows.
I wish they had chicken programs . Sometimes its nice to tune out the world of people and disasters every where and just have an AHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh moment. When I am cleanning coops, its just me and the chickens no one to please or try to not step on someones feelings accidentally. I love the sunrises and sets while sitting on the swing.
I am often asked don't you get lonely spending many days alone. No .. I do miss my hb when he is gone but I adapt. He is here about 1/2 the time. I have learned to treasure him for who he is. I have learned to be very independent. We both like it that way. Nella so many times I have noticed we think alike. Have a good Sunday night everyone. Gloria Jean

Ps If I had the space and money I would have more hens and animals than I would know what to do with. I wish I had known this about me when i was younger. Now it is too hard to have some of the animals I would have liked.

My boyfriend lives in Ohio. We try to see each other once a month.....people always wonder how that can work out. Well, we both like our space. And are busy working....we talk everyday, text back and forth while we're working and talk on the phone usually once or twice during the day and before bed. I enjoy my "me time" and so does he. Admittedly, I would like to see him more than once a month.....but we make it work. I like the solitude! I spend all day at work talking to people. I like to come home and "veg" with the animals and my tv. And internet of course.

I broke down and I'm watching the superbowl. There wasn't much else on.

And I'm watching a pregnant goat on webcam. I am a winner.

I want goats. I really shouldn't get more animals. Its hard to take care of everyone myself. Even though I enjoy them and its worth it. My boyfriend is lucky he lives in Ohio. I would have more honey do projects than he could shake a stick at!

Was reading other posts on BYC tonight and think I need to make a tutorial on how to hang heat lamps. I'm surprised that half of these people don't lose their chickens to fire. Eyebolt up top, carabiner clipped through the hanger with the cord ran through the carabiner as well, excess cord bundled and zip tied to take up slack. If running through the inside of a brooder/coop, use little cup hooks to keep the cord running along the roof or wall and out of the way. Not rocket science people. I even remove the clamp completely, since its worthless.

Help me out here. I took my computer tower apart and cleaned out the dust. Well, when I put it all back together .... I can not get my monitor to stay on. It keeps going directly to the yellow light, instead of the green light ..... ya know what I mean? I can not get a picture on the monitor. What is wrong? I have shut everything down. I have plugged and unplugged, and now what? How can I get the dang monitor on? I am on a laptop, and not happy.

Did you plug the monitor back into the tower?

It sounds like it is not "connecting" with the computer. As in, it doesn't realize the computer is on. Like its going to standby while the computer is asleep, right? Did you hook it into the right 'port'? Make sure you don't have it hooked into the printer port! LOL
