Kathy have you checked to see if your memory is pluged in good inside the computer? I kept having all kinds of wierd things going on until I got it finealy replaced and plugged properly. It had worked loose. Also I had some malware that I did not know about and spy ware that was slowing down the machine. Thank goodness for a good tech guy locally he fixed it and it works better than when new. 60.00 but it was well worth it.
Nella I like my alone time too. Just yr. before last I learned to use power tools. well, sort of. Wow what a revelation for me. It is fun. Now I do A lot of my honey do list. The only thing I have trouble with is the heavy things. I learned the hard way that my 65 yr. old body could just not get by with lifting, proping and nailing up thick treated plywood alone, well not the 4x8 sheets anyway. Now after a yr from my multiple surgeries. I will not try that again. I have it cut to reasonable sizes at Lowes.

This Spring will be fun. I want a winter coop so bad......... close to my house so I will not have to go down that hillside in the snows we have. Its about 30 cinderblock steps and then a tilt all the way down the other 100 ft.
Well I have lain down one time to sleep but I guess its another half sleepless night for me. A drated possum turned over a pail on the porch and I came from a dreammy state to full awake. No telling if I will be sleepy anytime soon.

oh my god y'all. OMG. I just had a traumatic event. I am on some antibiotics right now and one is a big ol capsule. Well....you know how when you take pills it often feels like they are stuck up in your throat? It felt like that, as usual.

So a few minutes go by. and I burped.....and the capsule broke apart and shot powder all over my throat and up my nose! OH MY GOD. It burns so badly. Seriously. Death via capsule? Imagine when you accidently snort saltwater up your nose. Times like FIFTY.

Nella, go drink something. Then blow your nose good and use some saline rinse to clear it. It will not burn near as bad. That stuff can burn a literal hole in your esophagus. If possible some cream or milk is best. My Neice had that happen but it did not explode just stuck in there and disolved. She had a pure ulcer from it. GO drink drink. Hope you are better soon. It looks like both our nights are shot..... Gloria Jean

Kathy it sounds like your video card needs to be reseated. Make sure the cables from the video card are plugged in if there are any extra coming off of it. Try that and post back please.

*edit* pmd you

Kathy, by any chance, do you happen to have an older unused monitor sitting around somewhere? If you do, try plugging that one into the tower. The problem might not be with the computer itself, but rather with the monitor.

Hope you can figure it out. Annie has a lap top. I tried to use it and durn near pulled out all of my hair. I simply can't adjust to that kind of a keyboard!

Hey Nella, you're the Queen of the Broodies, right? I have a number of questions for ya. When one of your girls is about to hatch out her eggs, does she start acting just a little bit different? Kind of antsy maybe?

GeeGee sits all day long, and the most movement I see out of her is the occasional blink of her eyes. And of course when I insist that she eat and drink something. Other than that, she usually doesn't move a micron in any direction. Until late last night that is.

Twice she made this funny little soft squeal sound, woggled her breasts over her eggs a bit and then settled down again. She did that again this morning while I was in here and then again just a few minutes ago. Is this typical behaviour? Are the eggs maybe moving around a little bit under her as they get ready to hatch? Is this a warning sign of an impending hatch, in other words??

My other question is this: If, by some stroke of miserable luck, these eggs don't hatch, would it be advisable to put new eggs under her and see if she'll go the distance? You guys keep telling me that some broodies never give up until they have babies to raise. I'm just wondering if anyone ever got their broody to sit through 42 days straight. Actually, it would probably be more like 49 on account of she sat for three or four days before she blew it on that first set. As it is right now, she shows absolutely NO sign of giving up!

Nobody up here has any chicks for sale right now. It's just not the time of year for it. Usually we don't see the feed stores carrying chicks until the third week of March, so simply buying her a small handful of chicks to raise if these eggs don't pan out is not an option.

She's worked so hard. I really want to see her be a mommy after all of this effort. Suggestions are always welcome.

Oh, and Nella, the next time you get a pill of any kind stuck half way down your throat, chew up and swallow a piece of bread. White bread is preferable. It gets softer and gooier going down than wheat bread and does a much better job of grabbing hold of the stuck pill and dragging it down with it.

My mom taught me that one and it has always worked for me.

Milk is a good idea for most other kinds of pills, but you want to check first as this is an antibiotic. Some of which can have adverse reactions when mixed with milk. Such as loosing all efficacy. Which is why the label will usually read, "Do NOT take with milk". For some reason, milk will block your stomachs ability to absorb the antibiotic as I understand it. Daayuum Girl! You just don't do anything by halves, do ya?!?!

Hope you're feeling better now!

OK, I'm WAAAAAY behind schedule in tucking everyone in for the night.....bbl....

About a month ago I had at least half a dozen monitors here. They are all gone now! I took them all to the Good Will when I was cleaning. I don't think it is my monitor though. I took the cover off the tower to blow out the dust (since I never have), and this is where I am now! Dang it, I should have left it alone.

Look at this! Weird!
