What? She just looks like a "normal," New Yorker (if there is such a thing as a normal New Yorker).

As a matter of fact that was her maiden name. Normal , Abigail Normal. Abbie Normal, she was from Missouri.

Ohhhhh, I believe that! Weird kinda folks in Missouri. Thankfully, I am from Iowa!

Been working on the coop, which is looking great with all the trim we're putting on.Tom spent most of the early day having work done on his truck and found out that he was in grave danger just driving it.

We had to have an entire exhaust system put on, then the repair guy, after looking under the truck, says "Um, are you close with the Lord, cuz the rear end is about to fall off-there are no bolts left". Then he looks closer and says, "The Lord must really like you! I'm afraid to let you drive this home, never saw one this bad." Apparently, the rear axle was being held together by a nut and some rust and that's it. He was of the opinion that it was a miracle that it was still in one piece. The original estimate we got last week for the exhaust was about $225, but he only charged $147 for that; the entire repair, including doing the work on the rear end of the truck, came to just $230. We got off easy this time. We knew the truck was too rusty underneath to have always been in the south, but we've had it for 10 years now (it's a 1994 Chevy Silverado Ext. Cab 4x4) and didn't think it was that bad. Tom then took it to get an oil change and the tech asked if he wanted to sell it and took his phone number. Strange day.

That's weird! I'm sorry! Geesh, living so high up like you do, that's quite dangerous! Glad you guys are okay.

Jay is having some testosterone kicking in, I can see! He's becoming a big, chunky guy, and attacks everything he sees. Little stupid.

I can't wait for these guys to grow up, honestly! I can't wait to get the coop done, too. We had some builder friends come over this week to take a look at the plans, and get started- We start next week, I think! We already put the run up, for the most part, but now I just need to burry the hardware cloth a foot into the ground, and two feet above, plus add some t-posts. Can't wait to get my camera back! I might add netting to the top, not sure. Happy Chooks is giving me adivce about adding t-posts to the middle of the run, which supposedly keeps out hawks. We'll see! The Dels are using the run now, but their small coop will be moved out once the new one is moved in! I am dying to see the flock together, and am super excited. Lots to do this weekend!

Oh goodness gracious that Shadow needs a spanking and time out. Or better yet, give her to Isaac's pen for a few minutes and that will learn her to play nice in her SAFE domain. Oh she is so snotty! Poor Nuggers. And Reba what was she doing aiding the little Princess? Suede wanted to thunk Shadow on the head is what he wanted to do...that boy was upset wanting to get over there. Such a good boy.

I am pretty sure that the mystery del is a cockerel, now, but will wait a few more weeks to be sure- "he" and Jay ARE so different.

So, I don't just want two Del girls, so I plan on one or two more. I'm looking for someone to send me eggs or chicks. Beth, maybe? I totally get the Del obsession now, you all.

Wow Cyn, I am glad the good Lord was watching out for y'all.

Nick, too bad about the camera.

Rancher, I am right with you about the stinkin snow. We got snow, sleet, freezing rain and now everything including the snow has a good coating of ice on it. Right now it is a measly 18 degrees here.

Cyn, may the good Lord continue to cradle you in his protective hands, for surely that had to be divine intervention on the condition of the truck! When I think of how many times the two of you braved those mountain roads in snow, ice and rain, just to take care of things....**shudder** If that isn't the hand of God at work, I don't know what is!

Talk about scary to learn how close you had come! I'm very relieved to know that neither of you came to any harm on account of it.

Laura, hang in there sweetie! I think marginally better weather is on its way to you even as I type. We've had two consecutive days of reasonably nice weather. Just some brief showers here and there, and we've been hovering right around the 50 degree mark. And you know everything pretty much flows from west to east. Give it a few days and I bet this more mild weather gets to you as well. I'll certainly keep my fingers crossed for you that it does.

I totally hear you on the icky weather though! Stick a fork in my butt and turn me over, I think I'm done with this crazy weather too!! Along about the first week of April is when we start heading into our spring thunder and lightening phase of weather. And hail storms! OMG! Some of the hail storms we can have out here! And they come out of nowhere! They're lots of fun until you get caught out in the open in one!

Believe it or not, the chickens seem to absolutely delight in hail storms! Just as soon as one starts to slack off, they're out there running around and gobbling up the hail stones! Crazy birds!

Edited cuz I cain't speel tonite!

Good Morning everyone!

Laura and Amy I hope the weather gets better for you all, it has been weird as all get out here too. *sigh* Where is spring? One day it is 70ish the next it is barely 40. I am over all this nonsense.

Um yes it was 20 degrees this morning here and potential snow tomorrow - grrr the darn Forsythia are blooming i thought that meant the end of winter !

Ok you all must talk some sense into me - i am getting the "Itch " a little bit as the lollipop kids are growing and they will soon be going to their home ..... I am considering setting some Bantam Barred Rock and bantam White Langshans .... should i do this ? I am wanting a bantam area and i alsmot cant help my self!

I cannot afford a much better incubator right now BUT if anyone had a spare one they are no longer using that i could purchade for reasonable price? Would make the second hatch much more enjoyable.

Knox, I like that idea. I wish that I had the room for a bantam area! About the bator, have you checked craigslist?

Amy, hail? What? Guys, I sure hope that it clears up soon! I am glad that the chickens are okay.

LH, good morning!
