LH has her little Adonis in my brooder and I'm becoming more and more sure that it's truly a cockerel. Smoky's kids have fooled me before; heck, she herself even looked like a male for ages, but most of the time, when the wing feathers in like this on the Orps, extra long primaries rather than an even fringe across the wing, they're males.

SILKIES IN THE HOUSE! two so far.

This is only day 18 and 5 chicks. These guys are as impatient as I am.

Silkies, Lord have mercy. One is a porcelain, new color i believe. Only got the one I think, not sure of the others.

Cyn of course Adonis is a boy...you talked to HIM in the egg and he was named immediately so he ha no choice but to be a boy.

Kathy, that is HILARIOUS. WOW.

I have good news! I have someone who wants me to hatch 75-90 straight run chicks for them. That means I'll have to set quite a few. They'll pay me $350, plus free feed and extra feeders and waterers (I'll raise them till they're aorund 3 weeks old). Now, I like this!

I am so excited! This whole "hatch and sell" thing is exciting. I have other people putting in orders, too. Now, I need to go buy some eggs! Maybe a few for my own flock, too. Just a few, though. My brooder is ready...
