I got to "babysit" my new "grandson" yesterday. Kodi helped a lot too. Funny thing though, when my son dropped him off he says "He is a real handfull Mom."

Thanks. I love Huskies. We were training the pup with the chickens while he was here. He was learning pretty quick that he was to stay away from them. I am not saying I will trust him eventually around the chickens. I still don't completely trust Kodi. But Kodi does real well around them. He won't even go after the wild turkeys or deer that occasionally come in the yard. Oh, I also taught Kota [the pup] to "sit".

I don't think this Barred Rock mama is too interested in brooding these chicks. Tonight when I got home from work I could hear the chirping of distressed chicks. I went to see that mama was inside with one chick and the others were all outside alone. I will give her another day or so, and then I will toss her back into the adult pen, if she is not doing any better.

I got some beautiful partridge babies too. Does this make this white baby a split or something? LOL

And for your viewing pleasure....a Meg and Suede baby...this one and the fat blue one are Chy's favorites....the white on its chest was from DE. The goober jumped right in it before I could get it mixed in the bedding. LOL

Greetings y'all! Sorry I haven't been around much. Mom is visiting us this week and I feel like a frog in a blender for the most part! Crap! I think I've done more cooking in the past four days than I have in the last four years!

And, of course, my online time has been drastically curtailed on account of her presence.

Don't get me wrong. I love my mom to pieces. I'm just not very good at having my entire routine turned upside down.

Laura, that grand pup is so dang cute!

Sounds like he's a smart little guy too. Good on you for teaching him to sit already!

An obedient dog is a much safer and happier dog, IMHO.

LH, that picture of Cheyenne and Jet is just too funny!

Cheyenne looks like she's having a ball, but if she had made eye contact with that stink eye that Jet is giving, I'm sure Chey would be six feet under!

Kathy, love that pic of the BR mama and her chicks. I hope she was just too tired last night to remember to gather up all of her babies. Poor little goobers! That must have been scary for them.

Did she seem happy to see them when you gathered them up and tucked them under her? I sure hope she remembers to gather them all up tonight!

Well, looks like mom is up and sniffing around for a cup of tea and someone to share it with!

I love her! Really I do! I just want to be able to sit on my butt when I want to. That's not really possible with mom around.

Hope everyone has a great day. I'll catch up with y'all after mom goes back home, next week!
