These girls are just appalled that Miss Olive dirtied their drinking water with her daily foot bath.

Tell the ladies, Ya snooze, ya lose! Next time, get up earlier to get your drink of water, or forever suffer the consequences of having "Olive Feet Breath"!

Happy Friday all!!!

Just home from a trip to NC and was "checking in".

For those of you who could use a good, clean, non-chicken related laugh, check this out. My father sent it to me, its a pastor talking to his congregation.....totally hilarious

Hope everyone is having a GREAT Friday.....weather here is NICE today. Only in the low 80s, a little rain. Not expected to be above 86 all weekend.....praise glory

Nice to see ya. Hope all is well there. Enjoy the big break in heat. This weather has just been awful.

Kathy (and all) I posted on the Plymouth Rock thread as well as the Barred Rock Good Shepard thread a link to pix I took last night of my BRs that are growing out (a few CRs too)

Y'all take a look when you can

Better yet, here's the link (I'll save ya looking for it). Just click the first pix and the program should let you scroll thru pix after that

Don't tell me your crossing those Dels and NHR's. I have to ask just how big is that freezer? I thought I had a lot of chicks.. I've actually thought of getting some GC's cuz I can't compete with the big egg layers around here. Chickens have become very big in this economy.

Hey, Scott and everyone else I can't think of. It's been in the 80's and I love it. Wish it were like this for the next 5 months.

take care,

Rancher

Does anyone here know about exporting hatching eggs to any of these countries? I have a request for hatching eggs to the UK.

I was wondering who needs to get the import permit. Them or me? This only mentions "importing" eggs to here but not "exporting" eggs to there .

Poultry hatching eggs imported from countries designated as free of END

The following countries are considered by the USDA to be free of exotic Newcastle disease: Australia, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Denmark, Fiji, Finland, France, Greece, Great Britain (England, Scotland, Wales, and the Isle of Man), Iceland, Republic of Ireland, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
Hatching eggs imported from these countries are not required to be quarantined. However, the hatching eggs must be accompanied by a veterinary health certificate issued by a national government veterinarian of the exporting country as well as by a USDA import permit (see exception for Canada below).

Tim, it would seem to me that the authorities you need to be checking with is not the US, but rather those countries to which you wish to ship eggs. Check with UK government websites to see what their requirements are for importation of hatching eggs.

Rumor has it that the weather here is about to warm up. I'll believe it when I see it. So far, this summer has been a dismal disappointment from a thermometer standpoint. We haven't even hit the 90 degree mark. For those of us accustomed to hitting the century mark on the mercury by this time, this is entirely frustrating. Having said that, those of you in the heat crippled central and southern states have my complete sympathies.

I so wish I could lift the burden of that heat, bring it up here where we could use a bit of it, and give you some of my cooler temperatures. But, if wishes were horses, beggars would ride, eh? Hope y'all can find some way to keep yourselves and your animals cool in all of this!
