I may have to rehome Isaac, though I don't want to.
He is going nuts mating the Brahmas, even in this heat. Why he is so focused on those two, I have no idea, except that I put them back in the main flock after being in a separate coop for awhile. He was mating Caroline, who got loose and ran under the coop, way up where she was pretty much wedged, and even then, I saw him pulling her, trying to mate her or drag her out, couldn't tell which and I yelled for DH to help her. Tom used a PVC pipe to poke at him and run him out and Ike was breathing so hard, he was wheezing. We had to put him in the dog kennel above Zane to force him to calm down and rest. I can't deal with this much more. He's going to hurt one of my older girls or he's going to die of a heart attack in this heat. I love him but he isn't slowing down, even at over two-and-a-half years old. He has 19 hens, what
more does he want? He needs about 30 young, chunky ladies who can handle his studliness, I guess. Amazing, these Delaware boys, how many hens they can handle at once.
This heat is about to kill me. And I have two broodies to deal with and old ladies on top of that. Plus, no one has claimed Ranger yet, either.
