I have something to say about that, though. They can "pinch" their tail, then the next moment, it can be spread out. It's a carriage thing, IMO. I've seen it over and over. How do you determine if it's pinched when they can have it spread in the next minute? They're not permanently pinched, just like a rooster can drop his normally horizontal wings, depending on what he's doing. This type stuff is what bugs me about criticisms; they're not consistent.

Bad headache today. Nugget, Reba and Shadow still not breathing well. Reba and Nuggs are in the playpen on the deck, Shadow is in the big dog kennel in the great room since she and Nuggs don't get along-don't need them fighting while they are in this condition. I don't need this, I really don't. Temps for Chattanooga are predicted about 100 degrees for the next few days and we are usually a few degrees cooler than they are, being higher elevation. We need a break, please, Lord.

He'd be lost without you! And so would a great many of us as well, so, you take extra special good care of YOU. Especially if you plan on going through with your meet and swap this weekend.

If it gets above 95, and it probably will, I want you to take cover in an air conditioned room or car!

Cyn, I'm praying for your girls. Sweet little Nugs and Shadow and Reba too. I so wish there were some way I could help. Kathy, that goes for you too! So sorry to hear that you lost your best girl.

Mine aren't going to be too happy with me this morning. We have to go out to the base for a few hours today, which means they're going to have to stay in their yard, locked up.

They're so accustomed to being let completely out first thing in the morning. But, unhappy as they may be, I'll not risk any of them on a stray dog stopping by when we're not here to protect them. Dang it! Why can't people control their dogs?!?!

Cyn...I am sorry. I am praying hard for Nuggs and Shadow...my prayers for Reba probably are not what you want but I know none of us can help her...I do not want her to suffer but rather to pass quickly and peacefully.

I will be praying for both those girls again in a bit....I am going to go out and talk to Thor, I need to pull some weeds around his grave and I tend to sit and talk to him when I am worried or upset. I will tell him all about those girls I promise and I will ask him to keep a sharp eye out for Reba and to keep her safe when she gets there.

Knox sorry about the car troubles I hear ya I am having truck problems...just had U Joints replaced looking at about 1200.00 more in repairs soon.


Amy, I will be fine promise...I have not lived this long without knowing my limitations..problem is I do not think I have any but am giving room for the possibility that I might be wrong maybe a little but probably not.

Yes, I do believe it will have to grow up and become a Dodge Caravan very, very soon!! And sooner would be much preferable to later!

We bought the extended full coverage warranty when we purchased ours in December of 07. I know we're still covered, but that doesn't mean that they [the dealership] couldn't try to give us a ration of you know what, should we need to call in the warranty markers.

Yes Amy i think i saw it one of your photos - i think we have same car - the electrci blue kind of color!?! I really like the car BUT not right now!
Upon Scotts suggestion i called Nissan and have filed a complaint/ case kind of thing with them to see if i can get reimbursed part or in whole as it is a " young" car and the warranty had just went out - worth a shot!

Well....officially (at least by my thermometers) 100F here today, at the coops and on the backporch (both of which are in the shade, BTW) and 2 different thermometers

....and lost 2 more birds today. 1 NICE BR pullet from my Hardy group and 1 CR cockerel. The pullet was outside under the trees, looking like she was asleep. Colby picked her up and she was lifeless and stiff. Cockerel was in the coop (not sure why as I had turned everyone out)

We need rain and cooler temps soon! I dont wish anyone harm or loss but maybe a "small" hurricane or tropical storm would help??!!

I'm soaked to the bone after tending to everyone this afternoon, so I'm off to clean up. Take care and stay cool!!
