Nella hang on to that Splash for me...Cyn is hatching babies for me now and I will be going down to her place to pick them up and if that splash is a girl or I do not get a boy from Cyn, I will not lose out. Got a pic of the splash? Maybe we can help you sex it. When I go down depends on whether brooder raises them or not.

I would have to get pix of the splash. I had a bunch of obvious roosters and two obvious pullets. And then two maybes. None of the roosters had combs or wattles much but were doing the typical rooster feathering out aka half bald. The two pullets feathered out quickly. These two were sort of in between. Still not much in the way of combs/wattles. I would lean towards boys if someone put a gun to my head. But not positive.

TN Valley Fair is the 2nd weekend in September, I think. That is when I am selling ALL of my young pullets. I will have approximately 2 dozen at that time. So if you came down between now and then you could take your pick of a few of what I have. 2 black orp girls and the rest cochin mixes. Nice girls. Blues, blacks, buff, brown/black, white with black spots, blue copper, etc.

Where are all these dang coons coming from?

THREE coons in the pen at midnight tonight! One in the trap and two more there. Cody killed one, we trapped one, and one got away. I am sick to death of these dang predators.

Nella that will be close timing but very very possible. Story briefly, 3 eggs in Bators on day 21 and 2 under broody due in a few days. If broody accepts Bator babies that hatch, she will decide when I can have them. LOL. I am waiting to see what hatches where. LOL. But if you can hang on to Splash till that sale, I would appreciate it.

Dang Kathy those coons are everywhere. I swear they find chickens and run back to the woods and put up flyers all over so all of them in the county know where to go, the predators read them and pass the word. Get em girl.

That boy is cute, Hector has a fuzzy bottom and bald back still. LOL

They are still alive this morning. We remembered we had an old cool mist vaporizer and got it clean and set up with oxine solution and dang it, the motor was frozen!

Maybe we can get a new basic one in town today for them. They sounded worse last night, but you know, you always do when you're having breathing problems.

Those pics give me flashbacks of Suede at 4 weeks old. By 7 weeks, he wasn't naked anymore, though.


BTW, no pips yet, but that same egg of Dusty's was still rocking. Today is Day 21. Not sure how long Neela was off the eggs that last couple of days, cumulatively, to delay the hatch, but since it was so hot, I doubt it would have had much effect.
