Woke up to three inches of new snow this morning, and it's still coming down Yay! I love the snow, but you should see the look on the faces of my girls. Ooooh! They are NOT happy! Not happy at all!!

Well you should've posted pictures so we could.

Round 2 has begun (or is it began).....

Ice is down, and now it is snowing. Forecast for the next week is one day above freezing. YUK! I do not like doing chores when the water is frozen and I can't use the hose.

Oh but isn't it nice to be inside where it's cozy and warm? Nice cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows? A good book?

I made some bean soup today with ham. Not to bad for my first attempt. The true test is when DW tries it. If she likes it then it's very good. If not then it's just good. Mark my word she'll say it needs something though.

Did you bake some cornbread to go with the ham and beans? Gotta have cornbread! I always add a couple spoons of sugar to my cornbread mix. It just needs a little sweetness.

No corn bread. I don't really care for corn bread. Anyhow DW did say to add some tomatoes. Which I had thought too but needed her input. So I feel pretty good about 1. not wasting the ham bone and 2. getting to use a small jar of tomatoes I put up from my garden last year.

I do have a recipe for homemade bread I might try.

I've been on a baking or cooking kick these days. Made two pound cakes from a recipe gotten on the forum here and a Cranberry upside down cake that I made with the help of the Queen. Sugar everywhere, but it was good and we had fun.

DD in TX was complaining it was cold down there. It's in the 60's. Would to God it was in the 60's here.

Chickens seem to be ok with it though. Digging a nice mud hole in the yard.

I'll be tossing grass and clover seed everywhere. I didn't know it but Sheep can't eat Red clover. I always buy a few pounds of seed to toss around and fill in the bare spots.

I haven't seen the hawk around here lately but did see one on the way to church. I hope it stays there.

Chicks are set to hatch on the 9th and I've had few e-mails to buy eggs to hatch.

Maybe I can get enough money to buy some feed.
