ALERT THE PRESS! DD is cooking supper. OMG .... shocking as it is, she is doing it. She is nearly 20, and is not a cook. All my (4) sons are excellent cooks, but the DD had no desire to even attempt it. DS and family are here, from Iowa, to pick her up and take her there for a baby shower (and DH will bring her back in a couple days), and she decided to cook for us all.

Spaghetti, Garlic bread, salad ..... Whoa, I am in shock.

BTW, if I disappear, if may be from poisoning.

Just keep a few antidotes on hand, Kathy. And since she is trying, choke it down and praise her efforts, no matter what!

Of course, I can advise that, I have no kids!

Haaaa, I have no kids either. Neener neener. LOL. My boyfriend doesn't like kids and doesn't want any........when I told him I wasn't a huge fan and didn't want any either he pretty much said "I'm going to marry you." ha ha ha.

My kids are all furry and feathered....and there are plenty.......1 horse, 4 dogs, 1 cat, 2 bunnies, 8 bazillion chickens, 11 ducks SOON TO BE NONE.

Hey LH, want a nice little breeding flock of Welsh Harlequin? I have my drake and 3 ducks for sale. I could deliver to Georgetown this Saturday at 4ish! LOL

Scott. NO WAY! NADA! NYET! NEIN! and not even Nein, danke.

Whew. I was frightened there for a minute.

Nellabean, why are you getting rid of your ducks?

So who's thinking about cranking up the incubators? I shut down a couple of months ago. I really hate hatching in my Hova, its a pain in the patoot to clean. Soooooo....Brinsea has a nifty little job on sale right now, looks perfect for hatching, easy to clean, so Im thinking its time to get the breeder pens back up to speed. Anyone else having these hallucinations?

I am new to ducks....and have found out that I'm just not a duck fan. I prefer the chickens....and since I am trying to downsize, figured I would rather keep an extra group of chickens than the ducks. I think a group of 15 chickens might be equal to the 4 ducks. The runner girls are already sold and leaving the 21st. That leaves the group I originally planned on keeping, the Welsh Harlequin quartet. But I think I would rather sell them....it's starting to feel like a zoo here.

I have a rooster and 5 hens leaving next week. A buyer for a rooster and 3 hens the next weekend and another buyer wanting a pair of the silver laced cochins next week. Plus the 7 ducks and a pair of bantam cochins leaving next weekend also. That's 7 ducks and 14 chickens. Plus a potential buyer for my 2 mottled d'uccle girls (just waiting to see what happens with spike), and all "extra" pairs will go to the sale on the 21st. Plus I have "for sale" 5 point of lay pullets.....and will be adding about 5-10 more large fowl girls to the list soon.

I have easily over 100 chickens right now. Which is A LOT for one person who works full time and goes out of town once a month......and also has the horse/dogs/cat/bunnies......its probably funny because I am mostly downsizing but also adding on a few new birds here and there. I am "readjusting" my plans. Selling the very "sellable" birds that other people want and keeping my favorites plus the 'old girls' plus some others.

If I can get down to 50, I will be happy. I have a lot of bantams here, so that number is a bit cockeyed. Although I have tons of extra bantam roos, I have only 2 large fowl roosters right now that are not sold/pending. My big blue cochin rooster and a blue wheaten ameracauna cockerel. And a blue cochin youngster for sale actually. I am doing good on the rooster front! How did that happen? LOL

Woman....you must be on drugs (would you share??!!)!!! Its too d&*m hot to be moving anybody around here just yet.

(BTW - glad you came back!!!) even after a little harrassment

Seriously, I want to raise 25 or so Col Rocks this Fall, but I cant think about putting chicks on the ground until late Sept. Temps here at night aren't much below 80 degrees right now

I would LOVE to- but I have more broodies than I know what to do with, all sitting on EE/OE eggs because they're all running together. Plus- I have TONS of chicks right now- FEMALES no less, and they aren't selling!
