Hey Scott- I just noticed, now that I have the brooder all redone- these chicks are HUGE! The others hatched the same day- orps, legs, rocks...The delawares & dellie x's are so big! Were the eggs big?

Delaware chicks from these lines seem to start out larger than the Orpingtons.

Seriously, I want to raise 25 or so Col Rocks this Fall, but I cant think about putting chicks on the ground until late Sept. Temps here at night aren't much below 80 degrees right now

Girls are crankin it up again, Ive double my egg count in a week, since the temps came down a wee bit.​

Well, the heat didn't bother my girls today- everyone who is capable of laying, laid. I really don't get it.

Hey, Beth, I picked up the little blue Orp today. It is three weeks old and I see no pink in comb or wattle area and the legs are not super thick. Maybe it's a girl, I hope, I hope, though it is still early.

OK! OK! I'll grant that maybe four roosters is about two or three roosters too many. But I love those boys! I can't let go of them! Who's going to love them the way I do? Who's gonna tuck them in at night, every night and love on them, and caress them, and cuddle them, and tell them what really good boys they are, and how pretty they are, and......................
