Beth, when you go to the site, the main picture changes. He is in the one with the line of uniforms saluting.

For the heck of it...my daddy and my baby sister (she is the pretty one in the family)

The babies forgave me after sufficient and appropriate homage and pampering, rubbing their necks where they got their shots and telling them how beautiful they were in their new leather halters. They will get treats when they get fed this evening.

She did neck shots instead of butt shots on babies? That is brave!

Good looking DH, Cetawin, and good looking family. YOU FIT RIGHT IN! You do!!!

Thank you for the compliments. I still cry when I see pics of my daddy...the last six years have taken a great toll on him...heart attack, bypass surgery, diabetes and just not himself. I am so used to this strong vibrant man who could do, fix, cure, make anything that it is hard for me to see him tired and unwell. I am a daddy's girl, she is a mama's girl.

Yes Beth we did neck shots...I held the bouncing backing up beasties...that way she poked them and I am still the "good" lady. muahahahahaha

See, last year i only had regular chickens. All large fowl. This year I added bantams, DUCKS aaaaaaaaaaaand rabbits. That's what happens when there is no DH. I asked my SO just for his opinion and he said OOH GET DUCKS. Big ol fail. The "furry foot chickens" are his favorite too. Darn enabler.

Ladyhawk,
Your dad is very handsome, and your sis is almost as cute as you are.

Beth,
Last year my DH just wanted a few chickens for eggs, just as I did. Then, I went overboard. Now, I am becoming a bit more reasonable, and now HE is becoming worse than I ever was (if that is possible). We walked around the yard yesterday. I was insistant that we must make cuts. He agreed. I said, "OK, you make the first cut. Who is to go."

He said something like this, "Well, not the Delawares; they are never going. Not the Jersey Giants; I like them. Not the Light Sussex; they chatter and sing to me. Not the Marans; I like the dark eggs. I love those red birds now ... the RIRs, Buckeyes. For sure not the Barred Rocks, because they are getting to be beautiful. Of course, those English Orps are just the most beautiful birds ever. The Icelandics ..... well, there is no way we can let them go............" SEE what I mean?????

Heavens, Kathy, he is worse than any of us! Get him on here! So what are you going to do, cut the numbers you have of each breed? Honestly, I think its wonderful he is as interested as you are- my DH indulges me, and he will come out and admire now and then, but that's about it. Let's see, what can you get rid of? Hmmmm- those dark eggs are kind of cool, and if the Sussex actually SING to your Dh, you must keep them.
Of course, you CAN'T get rid of the Dels, the English Orps or the Icelandics. And the BR are way too cool!
Buckeyes and Marans are Heritage, are they not? Gotta keep those.
OK, you can let the Jersey Giants go -
