Yes I have made myself sick over this crapola...stress lowered the immune system and I caught the first bug to come by.

I picked up a bottle of penicillin at Southern States today and will begin jabbing my backside tonight. My email is [email protected]

I worry not about it being here because I can operate a delete button if someone spams me...plus I love my "send to spam" button too. hahahaha

I am laughing listening to Lancelot howl in the basement. He so wants out of his crate but he has another couple days in guarantine with Ebony until I am sure their pneumonia is all gone. Poor guy launches himself out of the crate into my arms when I open it. He just brrruuuuurrrrs to me while I tell him "No you have to stay a couple more days". Poor boy.

Cetawin, you MUST get well. You have a horse to ride and love! Did you see that mortgage broker today? How did that go?

Lancelot sounds like just the best boy- when he is out and about again you must post some updated pictures.

Cyn, let me know if you think it is a good shop, if I get up enough nerve to try to learn to quilt, I may go there myself. Franklin is an easy drive for me.

Kathy, when are you coming home?

Amy, what you up to today? Have you worn yourself out? Tim,Scott, Bassleg, whatcha been up to?

Nellabean, where is the chicken swap you go to? How far away from me are you? I am west of Asheville.

Looks like I'm going to try to rehome Tiny.

She has become a royal PITA. Tonight was just too much. At night when we go to close up the coop, she demands attention and even if you pick her up and hold her close, she bites and bites at your arm or anything close enough to get her beak on. If we put her down, she bites at our shoes and legs while we walk around getting things situated for roost time.

Tonight, found DH in the coop with his fingers around her neck, close to strangling her. He had a blood blister on his arm and one finger was bleeding. He sat her on the roost and she whirled around, trying to bite again. When he pushed her away, her wings dropped, hackles flared and she literally launched herself into his chest. She actually attacked him. I don't know why or what her issue is, if its related to her bad eyesight and her usually seeming a bit lost and out of touch with the others in the flock because of it, but she has become too high maintenance now. I'm not sure anyone else would take her on, though. Most know this, but Tiny is a beardless black Ameraucana- guess you'd call her an EE since she lays tiny brown eggs. She's beautiful and can be really sweet, but we don't have time for her since she's become more aggressive and we already have Zane who needs extra attention.

Beth, I shall get well I promise not only that I REFUSE to be sick

I shall suffer the pain of jabbing my backside with a harpoon and taking penicillin. We did not meet with him because the meeting was planned with his father (a super nice realtor that has been advising us) who is 76 years old and his son, the mortgage broker. I refuse to take a chance on making an older person sick and apologized profusely but refused to meet face to face like this. So, The mortgage broker emailed the application to us and I am emailing him the appraisal, inspection adn repair estimate we obtained in April. He will of course order his own inspection and appraisal, but we are working on it. Hopefully, I will be well enough to meet with him on Monday. We will see how I am feeling.

Cyn I am so sorry the terrorist has become this bad...but I agree, you cannot put up with that. she must be so frustrated with her eyesight and the lack of peers to hang out with...poor girl. I hope someone will take the chance on her because she is one cute little girl who can be very sweet when she wants to.

Cetawin, at least something is happening - if you are poking yourself full of the big P, you will be better by Monday for sure!

Cyn, I am so sorry about Tiny- she is such a pretty little thing - and gutsy. To be half blind and so small and so tough! I hope someone will take a chance on her, too!

You are giving yourself penicillan?? I assume you know the dangers of giving it to horses, ie must draw back on the syringe to insure you're not in a vein, otherwise they drop dead. Dead as in D E A D dead.

You are one seriously brave woman to do that.

Cyn, whats up with that Tiny?!?!? Attacking hubby???? Ive never heard such a thing. Maybe she's broody?

Ah yes I know all about the draw back. I have done this to horses, cattle and various other animals, including chickens and my backside more times than I can count. Why? I hate going to the doctor, paying him $65, him giving a prescription $12 to take for 10 days and I feel miserable 8 of those days. when I, having no adverse reaction to pencillin, can buy it in the same form as given to humans, adjust the dosage, take three or 4 shots and be done with it. And it only cost me 9.99

Honestly, I do a draw back on any injections given to horses etc and myself. Why risk it right?

The only adverse part to it....1 reaching around behind yourself to hit your butt and two sitting down afterwards. hahahaha
