Thanks, friends. I miss her, she was such a funny girl - but she wouldn't eat or drink and once Cyn said young hens can still have those laying issues, I knew it was a matter of time. Katia is a little puzzled where her best friend is, but she is so enamored of Ultrasuede that I think she will be distracted. I have never seen such a flirty, fawning "you big handsome stud let me cuddle in your chest feathers"hen in my life. Which as you all know, only started last year when I joined BYC.

Cynthia, this is SUCH good news about Maxie- maybe once she gets her crop cleaned up she will get the egg thing going again!

Gloria Jean's hen that she gave me is such a sweet girl- she let's me cuddle her, and she has one of those smiling expressions that Orps can have, the look that is really soft and sweet.

Nella, I hope she is healing up -

Hey now Cyn ease up on the Blue Boy...he is just a late bloomer. Remember perfection takes time! Gosh I wish I could come get him...but I do not need another roo, I have 1 too many now and need Nella's. Imagine that...how did that happen?


Beth...they sure do wiggle their way into your heart don't they?

I have 2 Silver Laced Cochin roosters, 2 Blue Cochin roosters, 1 Blue Wheaten Ameracauna rooster, 1 Golden Campine rooster, about 5 blue Brahma/Cochin roosters, 2 mottled bantam cochin roosters, 4 gold laced bantam cochin roosters, 1 bantam partridge cochin rooster, 3 split lav/mille bantam cochin roosters, 1 mille fleur bantam cochin rooster, 1 mottled/mille bantam cochin rooster, 1 white frizzle bantam cochin rooster, 1 porcelain d'uccle rooster, 1 buff columbian/mille bantam cochin rooster, 1 silkie/ee rooster........plus a few I am probably forgetting.

Cetawin, yes they do. It is amazing. DH won't let himself get close to them, he said they go too quickly.

Nella, you said partridge and I perked up, then you said Bantam and I deflated. You ALMOST had me.

Would you all put up a few thoughts and prayers for our good dog Zeke? He is my husbands sweet Bassett Hound and he has a growth in his mouth. I took him in for a biopsy, and we are waiting on the results, but the vet that did the biopsy is pretty experienced and he told me he has a bad feeling about it. If this is it for Zeke, the lights will be out here for a long time.

Beth, I am so sorry for your loss. I sure hope results for Zeke are better than expected. I believe the loss of a beloved family dog is like the loss of a family member, for sure.

Nella, well yes, of course, we all want your roosters. Now, let's see .... hmmmm, it is a tough choice for me. Let me think about it for awhile. I will get back to ya on that.

I left a response in the for sale section on that beautiful, scrumptious dress. Unfortunately not one involving money . GO LOOK AT THIS - it's wonderful!

Actually half that list isn't for sale anyways.

BUT THE OTHER HALF IS!

For now I am keeping the silver laced cochins, blue cochins, mottled cochins, mille fleur cochin, gold campine, 1 gold laced cochin, probably all the brahma/cochin blues for a project, and the blue wheaten ameracauna......I think thats it. Plus LH's buff columbian cross boy. BTW, I let that hen stay broody. She is hilarious. HILARIOUS. I need to drag the broody hutch back out so I can just keep her locked up. She keeps getting off for food adn stuff and then getting back on the wrong nest. She is SO ANGRY. Crazy little thing.

I think the next time I will pass through KY will probably be January. But if she stays broody and hatches babies in a couple weeks, that will probably be right around when she is done with them too

That gives me plenty of time to convince hubby or build a new little cage and hide them.

Put bands on them woman that say "Property of LH" before you sell one of them. Silliness.
