Hey I saw those same call duck pen photos the other day somewhere....I have decided to build a duck BROODER that mimics those.....because brooding ducks sucks. That would be the perfect brooder for the little monsters.
Why do I need a duck brooder? Because my Welsh Harlequin have finally started laying! I am on whopping egg #3 for the girls. Obviously only 1 is laying so far....the other 2 will start eventually I'm sure. Neat, neat ducks. Don't plan on doing anything with them until next spring, but that gives me the winter to build the "brooder".
I didn't check on the rooster before work this morning, but he was looking okay yesterday. He is bald now and his face and comb are all bloodied and torn up. But he immediately started eating when put into the brooder and was roosting last night. When he "recovers" I will throw him out into the big yard instead of the rooster pen.
I have a whole 4 roosters in my big 16x24 rooster pen. What a waste! I need to swap them into the 8x8 pen for now. Which currently has a group of small babies. WHERE CAN I PUT THEM? lol Um.......I think i am going to throw them all out into the big yard except for the 3 bantam cochins who are teeny tiny...maybe they will go into a garage brooder? Sigh. Need more pens.
My poor little poodle........she has been smelling worse and worse. She has always been a "stinky" dog but over the last week she has smelled horrific. Well, I went to shave her yesterday and her mouth is disgusting. Rotten teeth big time. she has always had a "stinky mouth" but her teeth looked fine. She is an old dog and I've only owned her a few years so hard to say what her dental "status" was prior to that. All I know is that I was completely HORRIFIED when I looked in her mouth yesterday. I can't even explain how disgusting it was. Poor dog. I was quoted $400 to remove a single broken tooth from my cat a few months ago, not included the bloodwork that was "required" for surgery. So I called a new vet this morning and have an appointment for wednesday afternoon. I am hoping they will see how horrible it is and want to do it the next day. Yuck.
Well, my weekend sucked. LOL. HOW 'BOUT YOURS?
