Yard full o' rocks :
Opening weekend was relatively successful for us...saw plenty of deer. Landon (my 15 yr old) killed a nice 8 point Sunday morning. He also shot a wild boar that bottomed out a 300lb set of scales...it was an OLD NASTY looking rascal with HUGE tusks. I shot a 110lb wild hawg sow Sunday evening that is now being processed for wintertime chili and stew
Holy COW ! ! Do you get the 300+ pound wild boar processed, too? I can only imagine what he looked like. Did you take pictures for us? Congratulations on the successful hunt!

Yard full o' rocks :
I woke up to "chicks" this morning from my Columbian Rock fertility hatch (like I need chicks this time of year huh!!) Right now one is out and 8 of the remaining 9 are pipped. Hope they all hatch quickly so I can get them into the brooder before rain comes....we are "praying" for some to get to us tonight.
Oh boy .... here ya go ..... You are gonna have some great stock of Columbians! I am loving watching you get them going. They are so rare. It is a great thing you are doing, to preserve these birds!
Beth .... See ya tonight, at the meeting! Hope you get to feeling better.
LadyHawk .... Wishing you well, and hope you have an uneventful and quick recovery!
Cyn .... I sure hope those girls of yours are improving. I know it is so hard and time consuming when they are, "under the weather!" It can sure wear ya out.
Oliver seems to be okay. But tell me this ...... What the heck am I gonna do with Leggs? He is still our "garage rooster." He goes into the garage and into the kennel (big wire cage) every night. I do not think he will ever make it when he goes out where there are other roosters. He is scared to death of them. I suppose because he has been bottom of the pecking order for so long. Anyway, DH refuses to give him up, because he wants to see exactly how tall and big he is gonna get. I really do not want to keep 1 big ol' rooster in my garage all winter.
It took me nearly 2 days to clean out our garage .... I took out everything and dusted and washed and scrubbed (tools, walls, floor, etc), just to reclaim it as a garage. Dust, dander, dirt now gone ..... but for how long?
