Brandon...I remember that place. It is associated with the Mayo Clinic. I know the cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon that was the director and is still a teacher at the Texas Heart Institute. Dr. Hooshang Kadivar. I know he and his family very well. He was going to deliver my son in his swimming pool. hahahaha Long cute story but he is amazing!

I just got home from picking up a free roo.... He's a 28wk old Barred Rock. He's from, um, either Meyer or McMurry... but he is a stunner!!! I've got a hatchery New Hamp pullet...so, taking an idea from Kathyinmo and what a few others have talked about, I'm gonna see about pairing then up in a couple months and see what happens

Might end up with Delawares.... might end up with some interesting looking mutts

Worst case I've got more chicken for the freezer and hens for our pastured layer pens!

This is the only crappy picture I have...poor guy got put in the tractor for the night with the younger turkey...I'm sure they were both wondering what was goin on

He's got a pretty good body, he's wide and stout... dang was he heavy!!!! Heavier then any of my other adult hens or roo's!!!
I'll try to get a better picture in the morning... when I find my camera!

Cheyenne is safely tucked into the care and custody of wegotchickens and they are on their way to Columbus, OH for the Ohio national Poultry Show. I am sure a good time is in the making because the two girls hit it off right away...and I would not let her take her Saxophone which made wegot's DH very happy. hahahaha

They are gone and I have 3 new additions to our family...Lori brought Cheyenne 3 of her project d'uccle pullets...they are split for the lavender gene and carry a mottled gene most likely...they are crosses of her Mille Roo and a Lavender hen. They are really beautiful and I tried to get pics with my phone...I will get better pics tomorrow with the camera after they have had the night to settle down in their quarantine cage.

But here they are....unnamed until Cheyenne gets back and she will name them...they will go with her Mille cockerel, Emmett. The have beautiful gold mottling on their chests and lacing on their necks
