I may just do 72" aka 6 feet for the run to make it easy. i can turn the mesh the other way and just cut the top part off.

Well.......I guess I better spend the next few weeks building! LOL.

Ha ha ha ha. I will have to go buy a new $20 roll of wire fencing, I guess

I have plenty of the plastic mesh left over from my temporary duck pen....but need more 2 foot welded wire. Actually maybe I will splurge and use some of that 1x1 rabbit wire. Then these could double as rabbit pens when I have no broodies. ooh, they actually would be perfect rooster isolation pens. Or anti-picking pens. Or out of quarantine and ready to be integrated pens.....or baby growout pens.....

oh, the possibilities.....

I am wasting a breeding coop for 4 bantam roosters. Little buggars. I am still short one pen for my poor sweet innocent yet completely evil mottled bantam cochin rooster that Cetawin's mean rooster keeps beating up. He spent all day hiding at the far corner of the yard all by himself. So I pulled him out of the coop tonight and stuck him in a plastic tub in the garage to sleep. No idea where I will put him tomorrow during daytime. I am out of pens! 6 brooders are full, breeding tractor is full, breeding pen is full. Giant rooster pen is empty but he would be hawk bait in there. I'm considering moving the 4 roosters from the breeding pen back to the big rooster pen....then moving Mr Mottled and a few of the mottled girls for company into that breeding pen.

Hmmmmm..........OR I could finally finish that darn 4x4 coop that is just sitting in the carport. Sigh.

Oh yeah, I also have 2 grow-outs in the hallway of the breeder barn, because I have no place to put them. They are too big for one group I have, and too small for the other group of grow outs. I need more little pens like the one you propose. That would be great. Actually, I like the 4x4 coop ..... I need about 4 (or 10) of those!

Tomorrow I am dividing my Layers Coop in half (since it is no longer for layers, but houses the grow-outs), maybe thirds, to make more pens. It is a large building 16 x 12 ..... Oh gezzzzz

Can you imagine what it would be like to not have any projects to build? Sigh. How boring and uneventful life would be.....

I think this would actually be an easy build. 1 panel that is 8 feet long......5 panels that are 6 feet long or whatever i decide. Then they can be screwed together "on the spot" and dismantled if need be (ha, yeah right).

I think tomorrow I will boot the roosters back out to the big 16x24 rooster pen and move Mr Mottled into the 8x8 breeder pen. It has a little rabbit hutch in there and is covered, so its not a bad place to live.

I also think I need to take my premade panels that are just piled up on the back deck and make set of day pens I can use. Actually they would make decent temporary broody day pens, if i added plastic mesh to them.

Here they are set up as a 4 unit pen.........I could change the dividers out to make whatever configuration I need. 2 long pens, 1 long pen and 2 square pens....1 big pen. ETC.

Premade panels? Did you make them? That is a great idea though ..... hmmmm, just 2x2s and wire. YAY, I have both.
