I only have 3 olive eggers.....and I am still getting 2-3 olive eggs a day, nearly every day..........they are good girls. One is Aracuana/CuckooMarans, one is EE/CuckooMarans, one is Ameracuana/BlackCopperMarans. They are all good girls.

My white leghorn girls laid every day since they were about 21 weeks old.......this was their 2nd winter...one has continued to lay at least 4-5 eggs a week, even while struggling with the major bumblefoot problems. the other girl stopped laying and went into a nice molt a month or so ago. She looks fabulous.....the bumblefoot girl looks horrible. Raggedy, worn out saddle area, broken feathers, roughed up skin.....very dirty. She needs a molt like I need a winning lotto ticket.

Honestly my girls are troopers - have not fallen off a bit - but after i lock them in for the night - i have extra lighting in there and go out before bed to turn it off - the extra light is working for now and so far!

I have more eggs than I know what to do with already. I would do really well to only get 2 or 3 eggs a day this winter....

anyone want to know what 5 dozen bantam eggs look like, ready to be scrambled?

I scrambled another 2 MORE bowls worth after that one. Will do another similar sized batch later this week.....and again next week...and again after that....trying to use up all my "old eggs".

Those eggs in the background are only a fraction of the eggs I have sitting on my countertop, waiting for fridge space. I would guess I have about 15-20 dozen eggs in the fridge too.

We have egg customers that we can't even help out. Hope they are on the upswing now, and molting is nearly finished ..... I HOPE!

Kathy, I didn't know you sell eggs. I'd like to order from you in the Spring, depending on what you have.

I think feeding all these scrambled eggs should mean I can feed scratch instead of layer for a while, right? ha.

My fricking layer feed has gone up and up and up lately. It was $9.50 a bag for 16% layer end of summer. Now its up to $11.50-12.00, I think. Gamebird feed is $13.50 for 20%. Scratch is $7.40. I want to feed scratch.

Janelle

I get 16% layer and mix with 22% "Super layer" to get a 19% mix. Mine comes from Tucker Milling in Guntersville, ALA via the local feed store. $9 for the 16% and $10 for the 22%....might ask if the feed store you use can get it

I am talking about eggs to eat, not to hatch .... I very rarely sell any hatching eggs ..... rarely!

Lucky you .... those would be bargain prices around here. I can't even remember the last price I paid, but it is approaching $20. a bag.
