for your sister! Tell Sarah we are all thinking of her. Gosh, I am just so glad she is alive and safe now .... Pain .... Well, they should have her on pain meds. There is no reason anyone in this day and age should have to suffer pain when there are meds readily available.

Nick, I have ventilation up just over their heads so drafts don't blow across any of the roosts. I don't do floor level, but it would be a good idea in summer in Atlanta, for sure. I'm at 2000 ft in the mtns, much cooler than you are in winter.

Hope Sarah heals fast. Bet she's really, really sore!

Thinking about your sister, LH. I want them to find the actual cause and have the treatment for her when they do.

Kathy she will take her pain meds...she is much smarter than I. I refuse to take pain medication unless I absolutely have no choice. I cannot stand the way it makes me feel and most of it will make me violently ill...I would rather have the pain. But I have a very high pain tolerance thank goodness. My oncologist used to laugh at me because when they hooked me up to their funky machine to measure pain....what I categorized as a 3 or 4 on a 1-10 scale he said would be an 9-11 for most other humans.

Thanks Cyn...I am hopeful because she is finally seeing someone qualified to diagnose and treat her. YAY

To whom am I not to say a single word to? Or are you worried that if any of us says anything about them being in the incubator that we'll jinx them? Or is this about some promise to yourself about NOT incubating in the winter?

That's the part I don't get. Am I just being completely dense as a fence post here?

I guess I'm just doomed to remain being related to mushrooms. I certainly seem to lead the lifestyle of mushrooms.....kept in the dark and fed nothing but........oh you know!

All sorts of fun noises i have never heard out of a chicken - the Del girls seriously jsut look at her like what are you saying? Is that English? They really did - i was laughing so hard - who knew chickens could bring such joy to me - there i was all alone 24 degrees - dressed like an eskimo - laughing at chickens - i may need a therapist - LOL
